Advanced Coziness Lifehack (Patreon)

Started sketching this without much of a plan, & ultimately ended up somewhat incorporating a loose idea I’ve never quite been able to execute, & ultimately an image I’m not entirely mad at, honestly. 

For years, I had this premise involving a town in a colder climate where the residents subconsciously bulked up every year before the cold season. And while their appetites drove them, they were somewhat ambivalent about it & weren’t entirely oblivious to what was happening, sort of prognosticating how bad the weather would get given just how strong their urges were. And the story would’ve centered around an outsider, set one autumn, where no one in town is able to help themselves but gorge & some worry whether they should just evacuate the area, at least if they’re able to stop eating for three seconds. I feel like there’s some fun things to explore with that kind of a setting/scenario but I don’t know. I could never quite get it to work.

Anyway, for some reason, that popped up in my mind as I started going wider & wider on her hips. But somehow, the whole thing slowly morphed into this girl having a segment in some sort of listicle video where she’s advocating the idea of thickening up for winter in a straightforward, practical way. Don’t entirely know what any of the other bulletpoints of “Coziness” would be. Or why she does that thing Brock from Pokémon does with the squint. I imagined it as sort of an authoritative, maybe somewhat sarcastic, “come on, this is a basic fact, nerd” expression. Confident in her choices, & thinks your weird for being so impractical.

Timelapse & Fullres attached below. I noticed too that the app started to glitch in strange ways the longer I went. Like dumb things where the # lost it’s superscript, so I went back & added it, only to export it & have two #’s? If anything further happened like that & I missed it, my bad.
