Jeez! I wonder what it is she said...

|||

This was an old image I had floating around in my WIP folder forever. It's based on something similar I witnessed once, but context is obviously different. Anyway, I don't know why but I saw it sitting there & the spirit moved me to finally finish it up. So here it is! ALSO? I've been horrific at like catching things lately. So this is an edit with fixed grammar because I couldn't nail down the dialogue, left the wrong words in there, & I am a doofus. But it's fixed to make better send grammatical sense now hopefully.

As an aside, I'm not really that big on doing fanart of existing properties so much any more & try to keep all the characters I do original. For one, I'm severely behind on media, & a lot of the more popular things coming out these days don't really do much for me, to be honest. But after looking at the original WIP sketch I had started with this? I didn't quite know what I wanted them to look like at first, in terms of hair & outfits. So I had the idea to take the general design of two classic video game characters as a starting point, to help inform their looks, & then sort of applied their color palettes & style to current fashion trends I've noticed to get something of like a reverse cosplay almost, I guess. So they are definitely not supposed to BE the characters, but have looks inspired by them basically. I'd be curious to know if anyone can recognize who those characters were though. Comment below if you think you know.

As for catching up on things, I think you do a decent job, I'm always excited to see whatever pictures you turn out. Can't say I know these characters but this idea inspired another similar idea that might be fun to do (obviously not telling you to): A large teacher wondering why her class is laughing as she stands beside a Venus figure up on a projecter.

If you want to go old school with it, it could be one of those over head ones & she's leaning over to position it just right. Not bad! I hate saying this sort of thing because then I get a million questions about when it's going to happen, but I already SORT of always had a second part in mind for this one. But after I left this one hanging I never started it. Might be fun to explore, but I've already got a WIP folder that's too damn big.

Sounds good. I would love to see a sequel for it but I feel ya with having a WIP folder that's already too big.
