This Saturday marks the start of the second, and final, Camp NaNoWriMo of 2023 and I've just now created my project:

The project name is the exact same as one of my "classes" for my Summer Semester Writing Experiment (hereafter known as the SSWE, lol), so hopefully that means I'll actually complete it!

Since, according to the website stats, I haven't won a Camp since April of 2020 bahaha. (Guess I REALLY needed that distraction from the everything that was going on then....)

35,000 words, here I come!!

Before then, though, I'd like to have one FINAL stream for this month. And, fingers crossed, this will let me complete the Short Story On Stream experiment bahaha. I have some line editing to do to hopefully nail the fairytale vibe I'm going for, so on Friday, June 30th, at 10:15am CDT, I'll be streaming until I COMPLETE the story! (And you can find the link for that here.)

And lastly, our poll for July's experiment! The SSWE takes me all the way through the beginning of September, so I'll have one longer-form experiment going on, buuuuuut I do think I can manage another one, or two, or smaller daily experiments, especially if they perfectly coincide with this challenge!

So may I present to you, the 2 options for July:

100 Hours of Drafting

Okay, so during the #24hrnovel, I learned that some people (hi, JC!) were counting their hours by using the Forest app, and I thought that was GENIUS. However, rather than having to do it all in a rush in one weekend, I thought it would be fun to work in ONE project for 100 hours of sprinting, as tracked by the app, and see where I ended up at the end of the 100 hours. Have I written 15,000 words? Maybe 25,000? Hell, have I finished the story in 100 hours?? LET'S FIND OUT.

Creating the One Fictional Writer to Rule Them All

Okay, this is a bad title, but basically I thought it could be fun to mash-up bits of my "I Tried Writing Like..." series, but doing it for fictional writers. Like Jessica Fletcher of Murder She Wrote, Jane from Jane The Virgin, Richard Castle of Castle, Nick Miller from New Girl, Daria, Tina Belcher,....you get my point.

So I'd create a writing routine from snippets of what we see on their shows/movies and just generally talk about the fictionalized version of the writer and how sorta meta it gets. And bonus: several of these fictional writers have published books that "they" wrote, and I think it would be funny to check them out in bookstores, too.

I'd honestly love to do BOTH of these, so this might be a "which should I prioritize first" kind of poll, but we'll see how swamped I feel with the SSWE!

Thanks y'all, hope to see you soon, and happy writing! 🌻
