Option 1: Weekly Tracking as a "Summer Writing Routine Reset."
So Texas has gotten to the point of being just Too Hot to do much outside, which means my routine has shifted a bit and I'm trying to find a new way to work each day. (And, as some of y'all have noticed, I've been splitting my time in different locations recently so that's been a shift too.) I also finally got my Daily Passion Planner in the mail! So what I'm thinking is...do a week of tracking exactly what I do each day & then try to find the right routine/goal to maximize my process, while still being realistic. (And then maybe film the next week trying to stick to that routine?? Y'all let me know.)

Option 2: Writing Query Letters for Books That Aren't Mine.
I want to get better at pitching stories so I figure the best way is just to practice! I'd take 7 popular books that I've read and try to backtrack them and write their initial query letters. I'd do one a day. (And also maybe y'all could pick a few of the books?? Let me know too!)

I'm really looking forward to either or both of these! I'll check-in on the results by Saturday, June 13th and go with the winner. :)

I really like the idea of the query letters but I think that in order to do the letters you could do it with booktubers who are already in the writing stage and practice on their works instead of books that are already published. Have a contest. :)

I am self-publishing so not interested in the query letters. I always enjoy your telling & showing us successful authors writing routines.

I think the query letters experiment would be so interesting! I'm nowhere near that stage with my work, but the thought of condensing an entire book into a few soundbites is super intimidating to me, so I think it would be fun to see this applied to other well-known books. :D

I would love to see how Query letters are done. My book isn't near completion but I think it would be a fun and informative video for any aspiring authors, and using well-known books such as Harry Potter would inform how one might query their book.

I'm voting for Summer Writing Routine Reset. The query letter exercise is a great idea, but instead of practicing with other people's books, give your imagination free rein and write query letters for books YOU might write in the future! (Or books you have already written or are writing.) Get wild with it! :D

I definitely want to see the query letters for sometime, but right now I'm not at a query letter place and I think rethinking my own writing routine would be beneficial, so I'm gunning for that one.

I voted Reset because your routine experiments are some of my favorites! It’s so relatable since I think we all spend a lot of time trying to figure out a routine that works for us and it’s a great way to get ideas and get inspired!
