Important PSA (Patreon)

Hey there folks, unfortunately I have something pretty serious to talk about.

As you all know, the vast majority of my Dirtybird art is SFW, even if it involves things that are niche kinks/fetishes for some. I've never felt comfortable labeling stuff that wouldn't look out of place in a Saturday morning cartoon as being automatically sexual in nature, which is why a lot of what's in my FA gallery is marked 'General'. The main thing I care about over there is that underage people respect my rules and do not look at or engage with the explicitly NSFW material. Kids are interested in weird stuff too, and I'm not here to wag my finger at anybody for looking at cartoon animals doing zany but G-rated things on the internet.

That said, while I don't police the people who follow my account on FurAffinity, Patreon has different rules.

The minimum age required by Patreon to support a creator as their patron is 18.

Furthermore, because Patreon does NOT have the same filtering/rating options as FurAffinity, the NSFW material is just as accessible as the SFW. I still tag it and title it all as "NSFW" as a courtesy to patrons who would rather not see it, but this does not mean my Patreon is an acceptable space for minors.

This is why the entire account is marked as 18+ (as opposed to only marking individual posts as such), something that all users are informed of the second they click on my page. When you become my patron, I should be able to safely assume that you are 18 or older. I should be able to safely assume that anyone I am drawing kink art for even if it's technically SFW is 18 or older.

Yesterday I had to remove a patron who turned out to be underage, violating both the rules of the site and, frankly, my own personal boundaries. I didn't think I had to spell it out before, but apparently it's necessary: I am not even remotely comfortable talking to, creating content for, or frankly engaging in any way with children as Dirtybird.

This is an adult space, it is NOT for minors, and that needs to be respected for the sake of everybody's safety, regardless of age.

Once this month's patron sketch submission period is over, I'll be updating the form to include extra age verification* just to ensure that there is no confusion about this.

*For patrons who regularly collaborate with others or use their sketch slots as gifts for friends, I will also require you to verify that the owner of the character is 18+. It's up to you to decide your own boundaries when interacting with others, but I was extremely shaken to find out that I'd not only been drawing art for a minor, but art where their character was having kinky interactions with characters belonging to adults. Don't put me in that position, guys. Be aware of who you're interacting with.
