(Note Bene: This is the first of several short, bi-weekly vignettes featuring Magma’s illustrations of Meghan, the pretty and plumped-up blonde roommate from Lilly of the Valley. They begin right after the events of the story and each will feature approximately 4-6 never-before-seen Magma images. Enjoy!)

After being betrayed by her best friend, Meghan moved out of the apartment they shared and into one that was even bigger, better, and closer to the beach!  Ha!  Take that, bitch!

Unfortunately, Meghan's beach body was gone and so was most of her savings.  Big apartments required big money, and since she had quit her Home and Garden job to avoid her bestie-turned-beastie, the substantial deposits and fees had left her financial situation with even less wiggle room than her jeans.

Finding fresh employment also proved problematic.  In the past, job hunting never took longer than a day and Meghan always felt like she was the one doing the interviewing.  Male managers stuttered and stammered through the process, asking nebulous questions that ranged from personal to impertinent.  Now, she was the one stuttering and stammering, as potential employers asked her about things she wasn't prepared for, things like "qualifications" and "experience".

What was a poor beach babe to do?  In Meghan's case, she ate.  She wasn't used to being rejected, and her frustration made her famished.  By the end of the month, she had eaten through the rest of her savings and the only deposits she had made were another five pounds to her frame.

Ultimately, Meghan turned where many Gen Z'ers do in times of turmoil--TikTok!  Out of sheer boredom, she began blogging about her struggle for survival on the mean streets of Laguna.  Within a week, she had 10,000 followers.  And when she added posts about her weight-loss efforts and fails, that number shot to 100,000.

Suddenly, she was making money and losing weight.  It was a win-win!

Too bad Meghan was about to stub her TikTok toe...

Thanks, Halrion! Your kind words are appreciated and timely. (I've been in a bit of a rut this week.)
