Dear Patrons:

We hope you’re doing well despite the fires, hurricanes, and ongoing Covid crap.  No one is going to miss 2020 (I feel safe saying that even without ‘20/20 hindsight’), but Riptoryx and me are going to do all we can to help you forget the worries of the world over its final quarter.  It’s a little frustrating to have so much good stuff brewing that isn’t QUITE ready for patron consumption, but ‘quality over quantity’ has always been our motto, and we expect you’ll find our releases in the coming months worth the wait:

*A big reason we created this site was to interact with our fans and learn what most floats your boat (and raises your mast!).  In that regard, a few of you messaged me that you’d love another good comeuppance story à la “The Lesson.”  I’m happy to oblige!  Though I originally planned to write it after my adventure game, I was recently inspired by a WG sequence by a DeviantArt friend, prettynchubby: www.deviantart.com/prettynchubby.  (Can you guess which one?)  Anyway, with her blessing (and art!) it’s coming together quickly and I’ve bumped it up on the calendar.  I’m shooting for an end-of-month release.

*Don’t worry though…the new adventure game remains full-speed ahead.  (I find it beneficial to have a few projects to switch back-and-forth between as the muse strikes.)  Its non-linear nature makes it difficult to assign an official release date, but it shouldn’t be too far behind the above.  I can’t tell you much more than I did in the preview from a few weeks ago (www.patreon.com/posts/another-nights-40959298) other than to expect more choices, more endings, and more game elements than the original.

*Of course, I may be most excited about Nerf Effect, Riptoryx’s Mass Effect parody game!  Here’s what he had to say on its production:

“Among my guiding principles for developing Nerf Effect is to recreate what I consider to be three core ‘essences’ that helped to make the game experience of the Mass Effect franchise charming: (1) dysfunctional office/workplace drama driven by character personality; (2) a shameless, somewhat self-aware dating sim vibe, and; (3) sci-fi action adventure because oh yeah we’re supposed to be saving the galaxy or something, right? Most of my work on the game over the past few months has involved building up notes about character motivations, plot points, and other details that I might use or reference in service of one or more of those essences. Lately, I’ve made particular progress with outlining what I think will become the opening portions of the game. This includes: (1) a basic plan for distilling the Mass Effect franchise down into an introductory backstory that I hope will be a reasonably interesting and succinct summary of the setting and important characters for both longtime fans and the entirely uninitiated, as well as; (2) writing a more fleshed out first draft of the story elements that diverge the plot from the ‘canon’ events of Mass Effect 2 into my own twisted weight gain erotica.

Another thing I’ve sorted out within the past few weeks is a coding solution that I think will enable one of my preferred design choices for how Nerf Effect will ‘play.’ Without boring folks (or embarrassing myself by trying to explain stuff I don’t actually understand very well), the gist of it is that at various points players will be able to select from a list of multiple “missions,” each of which are non-repeatable but which may be completed in more or less any order, though potentially subject to constraints of time or other limitations that may preclude the ability to complete ALL of the missions. Ideally, this will help to foster a nice balance between the degree of freedom players have to make choices and how ‘important’ those player choices will feel in terms of shaping the overall experience.”

*In the meantime, Riptoryx is completing a multi-media musing regarding his first foray into creating weight-gain graphics for graphic weight-gain.  Expect that to drop in the next week or so! (Nota Bene from Riptoryx: “Translated, that just means I’m gonna share some really, really crappy old weight gain scribbles I drew way back in the day—older (and crappier) even than the drawings you can find stashed away on my DeviantArt page.”).

*And, of course, “The Harem on the Hill,” our weekly weight-gain serial, rolls on!  There will be some fairly drastic developments coming in the next few installments.  I don’t want to give too much away, but rest assured you will have a major say in how they play-out.

In closing, please continue to stay safe and healthy…and thank you for your continued faith and support.  We don’t take it for granted and can’t wait to share what you’ve helped make possible.

Best,

Maverick
