This one was really frustrating. When i started sketching it was my intention to create a robotic princess, one that would be a sort of fantasy clock-work golem. The thing is, I HATE robots. I hate technology. I hate sci-fi. I hate anything that requires anything futuristic. It's not fun for me. It's frustrating, and boring, and it makes me resentful. It was during my second or third draft of this princess that I realized, "Hey, golems aren't robots in myth, they are living statures of claw and stone and stuff," and BAM, I realized I could draw a sort of earth elemental and that would be accurate.

Point of the ranting is, I'm really thinking of putting a rule down that I won't draw anything sci-fi related, or if I do, It's going to essentially cost twice as much as something in my style. I know that's going to upset a couple patrons, and that's why I'm throwing this warning out there. Sci-fi takes twice as much effort for me, so I'm going to have to charge twice as much for it all to balance out. Not set in stone, but I come back to this idea every time I have to draw something of that genre.

Also, any idead for names? It has to start with G-, and I'd prefer a name that start's with Go-. So, Gode, Godiva, Gotta, Golette.

Bastiette? Godiva would be cool if she had longer hair, Golly, Golemy? I am not that happy on your sci fi take but is your art, your rules. The princess look great all the same, maybe a bit lively on the eyes for a stone cobstruction ^_-

Geode? Geodette? Golemette? Godame? Godet? Govael? also, are the runes on her head random or do they mean something in an actual language?

JK

Galinda? I'm sure I've heard that somewhere before. I guess you could turn it into Golinda, but that doesn't have the same ring to me. Or you could go with something Jewish, like Golda. Fits the Go- criteria too, now that I think about it.

Only after you realize you're making a creature of stone do you stop trying to design a robotic creature? That's one heck of a creative process, good sir. The results are super super cute though. As for a name, I'm going to make one up and say Godiamond. Why not?

Is the bird a stealth Overwatch reference? Could probably knock that home harder if you named her Ganymede.

Vincent

Geodette, (like the geode stones)

Brin

Well, if her name isn't something "Loew" or "Bezalel" it's simply not right. Are you SURE it has to start with a "G"?

markydaysaid

I was thinking of Bastion, yes, although I intended mine to be a titmouse. I don't know what Ganymede is.

Somebody had to make this joke, so guess it's gotta be me...Gollum. There, I said it. Seriously though, my suggestion if it matters is Goliad.

It's the difference between a golem vs an automaton.
