I'm not familiar with this game.

I'm a bit flummoxed right now. I've been posting drawings on HF comparing my 2014 art to my 2019 stuff, and I'm amazed by how many people seem to prefer my earlier style. Not just the humor or content (those have changed, that's life) but the quality. AAAAAAAGH! It's frustrating. I think I'm going to take my time with the next thing I do. Really slow down and figure out what matters to me in terms of style and such. I hate the idea that I'm putting more time into the art if people prefer the simpler stuff, but I also don't want to be lazy and skate by on my shitty humor.

Good luck man, find what works for you and don’t get too worked up about what others say is better

Being universally loved and admired without any nuance or conflict is the only thing that makes me happy 😥

It's rough man. Speaking as a guy who's followed you a freaking long ass time I have to say your current style is infinitely more recognizable and your coloring and shading are leagues better. But the lines and proportions are definitely different. idk, maybe it's comparing DBZ style to DBSuper? People just like what they were first exposed to more? Or maybe it's nostalgia.

I really don't know. Maybe I've forgotten about basic anatomy, and not in a 'stylistic' way that people will forgive. Maybe I need to re-aquatint myself with some fundamentals.

Master Dragon

Honestly it's good pic, plus we all have off days. I agree with Mandragora, People just sometimes like to compare and contrast. Just keep doing what ya do and things will work out.

John Smith

I would like to say I prefer your current art over your 2014. It looks more polished

I think Mandragora is pretty close. Your art has improved leaps and bounds. Your older style, I think, lent itself better to your comics. But your newer style is better for pictures like this one. Overall, your art is great, your humour is great, and I hope to be following you for many years to come!

So I read the comments and I think Protoplex nailed it but needed to word it differently: you haven't improved nor have you gotten worse, you've shifted your focus laterally. Less lines, less flat colors, more shading and effects. It looks good but it's different. Alas, you remain stuck in your loop between what you can do and what you have time to do. Style-wise you've gotten rounder and thicker, reflecting your love of dwarves I think. You occupy a space between regular art and chibi, a niche which you seem to occupy exclusively which is why everyone can pick out your stuff near immediately (Like the FuncoPop or Nendoroid vs regular action figures). Good luck deciding between your stylistic choice, there's no way that's gonna be easy, but if it's a matter of preference keep a good example in mind: Dr. Graveling loved her, and we still love her, but unless someone specifically pays for her he won't draw Monara no more. You gotta do you. Yes yes.

Baiken is awesome, you may have the chance to try the games, on their time they were awesome and fast, now days they are a bit more standard, and have a convoluted storyline even by Fighting game standards. On Your art, i think those who say your style was better before need new eyes, proportions, colors, lines, you are better than you were, i see Dragonborn:cometh every now and then and show a lot how better you are now, you defined the style you wanted to go
