I might be moving back to hard-brushing for the line-art. I've been using soft brushes for a few months now, and while that can have a cool blending effect later on, I also like the starker clarity of thin, neat, hard brushing. That said, any flaws in my art will stand out more wit this technique.

Wow, I hate drawing guns. They make no sense to me.

I figured I'd post a WIP because I don't feel like coloring yet, and I'd rather do another hard-brush line-art to see how it feels.

Would it be possible to blend both hard and soft brushes? Or is it too complex or just doesn't blend well?

Looking awesome, I remember this one. A Shame you not like guns

So that probably WOULD be the best solution. Using hard-brushes for the outline of characters, and for rigid objects, but using soft-brushes for eyelashes, hair, and interior lines. The probably is, that switching back and forth annoys me, even when I pre-program the brushes. It may be worth another shot, though.

I'm intrigued.

Cadence the spell-slinger from the Ariella-verse? or is this a 3rd one? The weapons and clothes look similar enough to her constant design but I can't tell without the purple streaks in her hair.

Same character, yeah. Steampunk is not in my repertoire, so it feels a bit unnatural to me.
