Announcement [4/5/2024] (Patreon)

Hey all!

With that last chapter, Twilight is finished!

We're now at 5/6 for Arc 2, and Sunset looms on the far-off horizon - emphasis on far-off because it's not finished yet! I think I've settled on a story and direction that I'm happy with, I just need to find an arrangement for the events that satisfies me.

As a forewarning, while Starlight and Twilight are intense stories that held one another's hand, I plan for Sunset to be slower and gentler to wrap up the arc. That isn't to say there won't be action! I've been looking forward to a lot of this arc's moments since I started this AU series, and Sunset has at least a few of those that I've been holding onto for a while. Not to mention the setup for the future!

Anyway, I hope to have Sunset done before the end of the year, sooner if I can. In the meantime, I'll be posting my concepts and notes for Twilight for y'all to peruse in the coming weeks - there's some interesting stuff in there that hopefully illustrates just how hard Twilight was for me to pin down as a story.

Once Sunset is done and dusted, I'll have a better idea of whether or not I can manage to continue the series into Arc 3 - I still plan to write a novella between Arcs 2 and 3, which will serve as an intro to the 3rd series, and I'd really like to write a Super Edition or two, but those might be further off than I can estimate. I've got a very rough outline of a first book for Arc 3 so we'll see where it goes.

The fact of the matter is that while I adore this series and I'm happy I've been able to keep it going for so long, I'm just one person and this is, at the end of the day, fanfiction. I have original stories like Otherworld and Knights and Necromancy that deviate heavily from Warriors that I'd like to pursue (and have been, when I can), but it's a daunting task to dare to shift my focus.

I'd like to trickle out some of my original content between the AU releases to hopefully give you guys a taste of what else goes on in my brain aside from cats - I know I posted a couple of chapters of Otherworld some years ago, but I petered off when I had a difficult time keeping up with it. I've written (and edited) more since then and I'd like to try again, reposting the old chapters as a refresher and continuing on with a more structured look.

Knights and Necromancy is further removed from how child-friendly Warrior Cats is and may not be suitable for my audience here, as it's a more mature story. Otherworld is a nice middle ground, I think, mature but not crossing too many lines that might get me in trouble with Patreon. Plus, there's more of it at the moment.

So! Those are my tentative plans! Twilight will be wrapped up with its notes, and I'll be working on Sunset, with perhaps a monthly dose of Otherworld to chew on while you wait. We'll see! I'll also be posting art of all kinds when I get around to it.
