I got a message from a friend on discord saying he accidently reported me on discord and I have to contact 'support' and 'prove' I didn't do anything wrong.

I stupidly fell for it and realized it was a scam and the friend's account was also hacked AFTER I changed my email to what they told me to and now I can't log into my discord.

I don't know what would be happening on my discord server right now,

SO PLEASE IGNORE ANY MESSAGES FROM ME ON THE SERVER UNTIL I FIND A WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM

*Also if you're still in the server, don't hesitate to tag everyone and let people know I got hacked, thanks.

UPDATE : I got a reply from Discord support saying they're looking into it. There are cases saying they got their account back, so right now I'm going to wait for the result before making another account.

Same thing happened to me a few months back 😕 never got it back make sure to change your card if you used it for nitro because the support team will not be any help im still waiting on them to fix it

This gave my thought of checking my emails and i found out they got back to me a bit ago got to love getting folded with emails. Email the support team and tell them what happened and ask if the can rest the email and the region

It will be a bit tell them you discord name and what happened. But don't send them multiple emails it will make it go slower.

Thanks for letting us know. This actually happened to me awhile back. But with steam. I had someone reach out saying they reported me to be banned and to work with a steam dev to remove the ban. Ended giving 400+ dollars to the guy. But! The guy didn't realize I'm in IT. And basically played him. I did all transactions through PayPal so I could get the money back after claiming suspicious fraudulent activity. I slowly started questioning his motives while not revealing how I knew he was a scammer. And while I had him stalled. I used my email to rest my steam account password. And locked down my steam account. I took screenshots of evey conversation. And created a support email for impersonation of a valve employee. Once I confirmed the steam account was locked tight. I confronted the guy with all I did. Basically I broke it down with him. I'd get my money back. I'd get my content and steam account back. And he'd have valve hot on his a$$. I told him I'm in IT and cybersecurity and I deal with people just like him on the daily. I told him I want him to give my account back as that all I cared about. And if he gave it back. I wouldn't go any farther in getting him in trouble. He quickly returned the account. And I swiftly changed all credentials and added multi factor authentication to the account.
