Use your phone light. If need be shine it down or cover it with a paw and just let a little light out between your fingers. It will let you see enough not to kill yourself or anything else. I try hard not to disturb my guests when I have them. They end up sleeping down in the living room due to going to bed later than me and wanting to stay up with the big TV.
