This is an example of what I call the second order mechanic principle. The first order mechanic principle is when the thing that needs fixing suddenly works fine as soon as a person who could fix it takes a look, e.g., the car stops making the funny noise as soon as you pull into the mechanic's shop. Second order is when it suddenly fixes itself before you even get to the mechanic

Mopeds, I thought they were made sluggish. Silly me. If it doesn't have the original "pep", check the fuel line and fuel filter; if it doesn't have a fuel filter, add one that is easy to change when dirty. If it is really dirty, clean the carburetor and drain the tank while you're doing maintenance. If you have moisture in the tank, they have additives for that. If it's electrical, I understand your pain.
