I don't know how to cry from being sad. I just don't, but I can cry tears of joy quite well. On our first date, I can't recall what we were talking about but I think I warned him that I do that sometimes. I brought up an example that had happened earlier that day - I had started thinking about statues of dogs. About how sweet that is that people will want to express love in the ways that they want to do it, it doesn't make a difference if the one being loved can't see it. And people love by telling stories, if you have a dog you love you want to tell people stories about it. A dog that had a statue erected for them can't comprehend in any fathomable way that this piece of marble or bronze is shaped like them - not just any dog, but this specific one - and it's there because the people who made it want to make sure that the dog's story is told and remembered. The dog can't understand that the bronze statue is made because of human love, but humans can't resist wanting to express love in human ways. And then I teared up again while telling him about it, and he went "no, it's ok" when I apologised.

And now I'm tearing up again from remembering that. I enjoy crying from something that makes me happy.

I'm often really embarrassed when I talk about something and get "touched" so much by the story that my voice fails and I can't hold back my tears. And I love so much telling stories!

Some off the best (aka most enjoyable to look at) ancient artifacts are statutes and art of pets. Absolutely agree. ❤

I'm sorry that embarrasses you, were I to know you in person I'd want to hear all those stories. A depth of felling like that is remarkable to be present with. I hope you have may friends that share my sentiment about sentiment.

And now I'm tearing up from happiness, too. Damnit, you're contagious! (The first panel is basically my wife and I for almost every comic in this series.)
