We've been watching a bunch of camping gear videos recently, just to bw fascinated by the strange gimmicky things some people bring along. Who packs raw meat to a camping trip, how would you refrigerate it? Who brings a mobile fridge when they go backpacking?

I bring raw meat camping but I also use a basic cooler with ice; none of which costs the amount of a car.

We had an RV when I was growing up. It’s not really camping, it’s a cramped hotel room that cost more. Financially, and mentally.

There is a whole "glamping (glam camping) culture here in the States. Our old veterinarian had a RV that cost more than their house and they would take a month off in the spring and hit up camping sites that were set up for the huge RVs. It even came with an inflatable Jacuzzi that ran off the on board generator. https://www.outdoorsy.com/blog/rv-glamping

It's just about summer here so a lot of local people go out camping, with fairly basic stuff. Some tourists come in and take just what they need for backpacking. As well spending time in town and seeing what it's like. Then we have these massive RV's heading up the highway and barely stopping. I swear most of them keep going, have a look at Denali through the windshield and then head back down south. There is more to the North than roads :)
