I admit, I love christmas hype, I want to see and hear it everywhere for 1,5 solid months straight. The goal is to have enough christmas scents, tastes, sights, sounds and feelings in you that by new year's you are utterly sick of it, and it's a relief to be finally allowed to clear all of it out after new year's. It's a great way to make every new year feel like a nice fresh start.

Also, we visit my partner's family often. The previous time we visited, his mom asked us if we're planning to put up any christmas lights. The days are dark this time of the year, the sun rises at 9 am and sets at 4 pm, so people put up decorative lights on their balconies, windows, yards and properties as a sort of a community effort to ward off the depressing, oppressing darkness and make it pretty instead. I said we didn't, but we'll probably buy some for next year in the 50% sales in january. I mused out loud that I've always wanted one of those light trees, because they're so pretty. Today when we visited, she had bought us a light tree.

She’s so sweet! 💕 Christmas isn’t really a thing in my country where most are Buddhist, but it’s still huge as a commercial season. I always put on Pentatonix in the car leading to new year :)
