I have never been stung by a bee. I have never been tested, so if I'm allergic to them, I have no idea. They'll eventually get bored and let you be (pun unintended) if you just let them check you out.

Bees.... at least the ones here in Northern California... are cool. Yellowjackets are little tiny gang-bangers. As predatory meat-eaters, you ARE food to them, and they are super-aggressive. We kill 'em with fire.

I save my panic for hornets and yellow jackets that will just sting you out of spite. If I spot a bumble bee in a flower, I will boop its snoot or pet it's back. Just avoid the ouchie end. <3
