We're at my boyfriend's parents' cabin for the week. They've got a pile of dirt that needs to be spread across the yard, and the dogs have an unstoppable yearning to dig a tunnel into the pile. It's not a hole, it's a tunnel. And this morning, my boyfriend's father was returning to the pile with a wheelbarrow, roughly 35 seconds after shooing the younger dog out of the pile, and paused for a moment to just look at the dog going right at it again. And this charming little pastoral scene was so beautiful that I had to remember it and couldn't rest before I could draw it.
