Hi guys, I would like to know your opinion on something. (It is important that you read everything) I've been working on the script and while I was doing that, I got to the point where I could include an exclusive page for the physical version (and patreon supporters if everything works out), I'm still working on how I'm gonna do it but it wouldn't be something big, by now it's just a single nsfw page that would be exclusive. Being exclusive would mean that the page would not be posted in my public galleries, but would also not be vital to the main story I'm telling in this comic. And since I run a monthly campaign in this Patreon and already post the files of my artworks, I feel like mixing the two things could be bad, the reasons: - After a few months that the comic would have ended, it would be "buried" with all the normal updates over the years, making succesive comics would just make it worse for browsing the files. Having another Patreon only for comics would already make this an easier task. - The main goal of this Patreon was for having a digital place where I could upload my exclusive files instead of selling them in art packs like I used to. Even though this one gets lots and lots of updates over the years, the more recent will still be relatively easy to find. And as I made it a monthly campaign, it is ahm, easier to "cheat" on the pledges, I've noticed some people with bad intentions entering and leaving my patreon periodically every month. I don't even want to block those people because I don't think it would bring any good and would be stressful, what I'm really offering here, in this Patreon, is a way for the supporters that donate because they have a good heart, and get rewards in return for that, which is access to all my uploaded artwork files since this account have started. And for having the dedication to be posting regularly and keep doing what I do, I don't ask much. - I am not wanting to creating another Patreon just because of money, no, I want to create organization of my files and more control over the pledges by doing that. Since comics are a more delicated subject to deal with (with early access, exclusivity to supporters that really want to make it happen, etc), I would be having a PER UPDATE or PER COMIC PAGE campaign on the new one. A creator can't have a monthly campaign AND a per update campaign in the same account, if they had a way to make this possible, maybe I wouldn't even be thinking about creating a second account. - This second account would be destined to my comics only, which is something that is still new to me, also a reason to start from zero and watch it grow, if the current comic is good, something that goes around only my comic creations and creative side without interrupting my regular commission work and vice versa. - Since there would have two patreons now to support I imagine that some people wouldn't be able to support both and that is totally fine, it would be ok to support only one, if one decided to support the comic creation only, it would still be supporting me anyway, but that would mean the person is more interested in the content that is being posted over there at the moment. - While this Patreon would be "active" all of the time, the second one for comics would have "seasons" where nothing would be posted, that's also where the per update campaign there comes in handy, while it has no new content, no new pledges would be charged. I really want to expand my art and make this comic project work and have success, I feel that a patreon just for that would be the right thing to do if I don't want to feel stuck while working on the pages for the fans... But tell me your opinion on this decision! I didn't decide anything yet, these are just thoughts for now that really makes me worried thinking about the future of my comics. I would also be creating a new tumblr for each comic, possibly, to make searching and reading them easier. ( the sad part is that I would need to work again on the patreon's designs and images ;A; )

I wanted to ask of you first about this decision, I don't think I will need make a journal for this decision but I will certainly make one warning everyone of all the changes if this happens like I described in the post

It sounds like a good plan to me and I'm sorry to hear that people are taking advantage of pledges like that. Super excited about the comic though!

Glad to know that the first opinion is positive ;w; I don't mind the people taking advantage at all, what I really wanted was to give something in return to the people with good heart that care about me and/or my my art. And I'm happy to know and say that these are the majority here. <3

Can't say I'm a fan of exclusives. You should keep in mind you might turn some people off with the paid-only content, and those pages will be spread around for free regardless (look at Jay Naylor and his adult comics, for example) But me personally, I would probably just switch over to the other patreon then. (I really like comics) :p

I'm not quite sure on my opinion just yet. From my perspective I'd be supporting you either way, either more slowly per update or monthly as a whole. I'm not divided between which projects I want to support, really just want to support you as a whole. I don't know how I feel about a second Patreon just for the terms of organization,

zetaharu

Organization would be just one of the reasons for a separated patreon for comics by me, the main reason is for the "per update" campaign change instead of changing this one completly and messing around with comic pages updates and submission updates, specially when some people would be just interested to pay to see the comics early, and not my artwork updates like I do normally

The whole comic wouldn't be exclusive (specially if leaked somehow), I would just need to protect the early access feature that it's something I need to, because it's one of the reasons for being a patron in first place, if I didn't care about my own statements and let everything "just go" without care, I would be making a very silly move here :( wanting or not, the comics are still business, and this time not just for me but for who's printing them aswell, so I gotta think carefully! The first comic was like an experiment, I just did the pages and posted them for 3 months, these months were also the period in that year where my earnings were the lowest, but I understood that it was because of my comic attempt and I was willing to fail or succeed. This time I'm taking it more seriously and need to manage how I work on it properly, because hundreds of hours will be put into it and the making of it affects my life, I wouldn't want to have to stop the creation of comics to have to go back to commissions or auctions because of lack of money in my life. But even if I do need to do that, a per update campaign over the new patreon would make things easier to handle, pledges would only be charged after a new page has been finished, which means a "pause" like this wouldn't affect the supporter's money, only mine, and finishing a page would have a way more rewarding feeling to it for me! =o It's just a very delicated topic in general, specially for me that am starting at this.

I personally don't like the idea. Having two separate profiles to support for one artist makes the payments double. Most people who follow you for your comics also follow you for your commissions and pinups and vice-versa.

I do realize that, swaping accounts would also be bad, specially because I would need another email to check, etc, I'm already considering forgetting everything about this post xD

2022-02-11 12:58:33 I honestly think the way you have it right now is not bad at all. It's basically a pull what you want to keep. You can feel like you get double for what you pay for, because you get your art packs & a comic page every now and then.
