Hey there, hope you're doing well. I thought I should do an update for next month and also use this opportunity to pick your brain about something. That's going to be the poll, but more on that later. I'll try to keep this short.

Part 1: Update

I've had my Patreon page open for more than 4 years now (wild to actually think about) and it's pretty much always been somewhat of a routine. I've kept Fallout 4 as my main mod game and released stuff every month for it, with the rare small release for other games. In all this time, there's never been something that could realistically change that status quo.

Well, as you probably know, Starfield is out next month, which really has the potential to be the game that makes me move on from FO4, the next chapter for me. Now, I'm not entirely sure how to approach this, from a content perspective, especially in the immediate release window. Modding Starfield itself so close to release is probably a non starter especially with probably no tools being available (also not keen on it myself regardless, I do want to experience vanilla before modding of any sort). I'm sure most here will be playing or trying out Starfield, myself included, so will they really care that I'm making or releasing something for an old FO4, let alone even use it during the game's launch? I'm going to go on a limb here, be realistic with myself and say ... probably not.

I've recently been asked about compiling my work and making mod packs and it's also something I've been contemplating myself, seeing as how there's now more than 100 separate releases to download. So, considering the Starfield situation, I think next month is going to be the perfect time for that. I'm going to be compiling and releasing packs that contain all, if not most of my previously released content, to make things easy to use and download. There will probably also be some small additions like unreleased stuff and maybe some new things, but of course, don't expect anything too big.

Part 2: The Project Poll

First thing's first, as I said in the first paragraph, this is merely to gauge interest and see opinions. I am not committing to this project and the results of this poll (especially not now before the game is even released hehe) like I would normally do for poll projects. Of course, an overwhelming YAY/NAY here will play a big part in my decision, but there are a lot of unknowns, so yeah ... disclaimer over.

So what are you voting for ?

A custom female body mod for Starfield. My own, scratch made. For the last 10+ years even dating back to my old FO3/NV days, I've always used third party body mods as requirements for my outfits. I had no reason to make one, it wasn't really worth the effort and time. However, I think things have definitely changed now, especially with me having a Patreon. Not only am I interested in the actual 3d asset creation process for it, but I would also like to have a body that I could call my own, that I can control and use for my own outfits. It would make armor/outfit creation easier for me and have an ideal shape/features out of the box (according to my preferences at least).

Things to keep in mind before voting or voicing an opinion:

- In terms of looks, do not base your decision on the body shape I used/use for my FO4 items, it will be somewhat different. Going for a realistic slim, slightly athletic but still idealized body shape. Will definitely not be your average woman's body shape.

- I will make sure that the damn asset quality is impeccable and the model is detailed, even if it takes 500 or 1000 hours. It being a base for potential future items only means that it has to be done right out of the gate.

- if I do decide to go for it, I will of course be making my future outfits/armors only for it out of the box. I will not bother with other bodies or their features for the duration of Starfield's lifespan, but you might've guessed this one. This may be a downside to some, especially if they end up not liking my body or my body is not popular.

- it will have a public Nexus release for better or worse, to encourage adoption. Will definitely not be kept exclusive to Patreon. Not sure if this is good or bad for some, but here it is.

There may be more to say here, but I think this covers most major things. I don't really want to write a book for what is essentially a pitch or feedback request. So yeah, feel free to vote and/or offer feedback in the comments, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this.

I will keep this poll open for quite some time all through Starfield's launch window, maybe you want to change your vote, or vote after you tried the game. Maybe this whole thing may not even be necessary and Bethesda finally makes a default body worth using, a lot of things depend on the game itself.

Everything else released, armor and clothing I mean, will most likely be CBBE or UNP or whatever becomes the norm for Starfield, probably CBBE, CBBE will have full BodySlide support, so I'm gonna say no, even if it'd be a better body in every other way to CBBE. Converting everything else from CBBE to JmenaruBody would most likely be too much extra work.

Well, nothing would stop people from releasing armors for my own body, definitely not me, as said in the post, it would be public and open permissions for all and anything they want to do with it. True for bodyslide though, I won't touch that myself, and unless someone else added support, it wouldn't have anything like that.

Since you are leaving Fallout 4 would you share your previous mods at Nexus? i dont really mind will be cool so people will see your great art and follow you in the next adventure to SF! I dont know about the other Patreons but im following you over there.

jmenaru

Umm, I haven't really thought about it. Maybe some could be released there too. In any case, I won't be leaving FO4 too soon, still a while before Starfield is viable to mod.
