Patron suggestions perk added (Patreon)

I'm adding a new perk for all tiers from now on, patron suggestions.

What it is, is basically exactly what it sounds like: you suggest my next project and if I like your suggestion, I'll make it a reality. If you ever wanted to see something specific being made but maybe you don't have the skills, patience, not interested in 3D modeling or maybe you just want to see a higher quality rendition or my take on it, now there's a chance that can happen.

I'm going to put the rest of this post in a Q&A format so that relevant information can be found easier.

What should or can I suggest ?
Anything you want to really, swords, knives, guns, armors, clothing, environment pieces, character related things and whatever else may cross your mind. If it involves 3D models and/or textures, I'm most likely going to be able to make it.

How many suggestions can I post?
However many you want. There isn't a limit, it's up to you.

How can I increase the chance that my suggestion gets picked?
At the point of writing this post, there are over 100 patrons pledged. If everyone posts just one thing per month that's probably more things than I can make in a year and that's just one month's posts. Realistically, I can not and will not get to every single thing, it is impossible, and thus there's only a very slim chance that what you want gets picked.

Here's some advice or a couple of things you can do to improve that chance:

- posting specific not generic things. Posts like "Make a pair of boots" don't really tell me much of what you want or like and I don't have anything to go on.

- posting a reference/concept image that contains what you want (high-res and more than one preferable). This is very important as it gives me an ideea how much time or effort your suggestion will take at a glance before doing my own research on it. Not including it will most likely make me gloss over your post, or worse, possibly make the wrong thing that you didn't actually want that had the same name or similar look.

- posting things that kinda fit into the game they're going to (at least loosely). While I'm open to everything, I'm most likely not going to make a M4 for a medieval fantasy game.

- posting unique or interesting stuff. While this is very broad and subjective, I'm more likely to go for a cool-looking belt design with a skull buckle, rather than an ordinary one as an example.

Where to post my suggestions ?
On my discord server. I have made a channel specifically dedicated to this that you can use to post your suggestions in. Patreon itself just doesn't have the interface to group posts under a thread so it is harder to track, browse and keep things organized.

If you absolutely don't want to use discord, I'm not going to force you to, you can still put your suggestions in the community tab here, but it'd be preferable if everything was into one place.

A note on discord posts: the suggestions channel is a patron only channel and as such requires a patron discord role for posting.  Please make sure you linked your accounts in your Patreon account settings to get access, I'm not going to give roles by hand so please do not ask!

What happens if my suggestion gets picked ?
I may decide to outright make your suggestion if I really like it, or if I'm on the fence about it put it under a project poll for patrons to vote on. Ultimately, it gets made and released here as a download.


I think this covers everything. Please note that I'm not going to be picking things immediately (there's still the 2nd poll project to finish before) and it is going to happen sporadically. I may pick one a week, one a month or one a year. It depends on time availability, my own projects and the "quality" of the suggestions themselves.
