Hi all,
Just like last month, I'm charging the next video in advance, hopefully to ACTUALLY have it finished within a few days, unlike last month's ludicrously time-consuming schedule-ruiner. I hope you don't mind. Since I'm not planning anything like as big next month, I should manage to get my schedule back on the rails and not have to do this again.

Tweaking the release date a bit isn't a huge deal. Keep the content flowing my man! er, creature, demon, thing...what are you exactly?

Re: IOU Donny Part 3 I'm... not sure if I'm okay with this. I've considered removing myself as a patron over it on principle. I've also considered ignoring it (rationalizing it as: I've put a monthly limit, you can only take as much as I've predetermined I can give. And, if I'm not affected, what would I be complaining about). Here's a (hopefully constructive) compromise. I'll give you my honest feedback and then let it go. Here's why I'm willing to ignore it: I am a patron because I like your content and think that more content like that should exist. As it is not marketable content, it can only exist if I put my money where my likes lie. Patreon is just a convenient platform for me to do that regularly without giving too much thought to it. Here's what prompted me to consider quitting being your patron: I became your patron after you made the video about the adpocalipse hitting you hard and you not being sure if you can keep this up as a full-time thing. So, with a personal plea, I came to help as much as I can. Your cover post on Patreon sets a tone (in contrast to other Patreon creators) that this is your source of revenue, not a place where you're building a community. In other words (paraphrasing) "there are no freebies and extras here for my supporters, I charge everything... I've got mouths to feed." Which is fair, but you have to decide what you are: are you a friendly creator that can appeal to his audience of almost friends to help him out? Or is this an impartial business transaction content-for-money. In line with the latter, you offer perks for certain tiers of support; for 15$ per month, there is supposed to be a monthly Patreon hangout... which was missing last month. So the dynamic is now: I need you for every dollar, but I'll sometimes keep my end of the bargain and sometimes not. And now this, two months in a row there is a post charged in advance for some future content. If this is a community and we're helping you out to create your thing; asking in advance or even asking for additional support for those that can provide it would be fine. But this verges on: "Hey, I need more money! I'll just charge my patrons now without giving them an opportunity to respond or react... they'll get what they paid for eventually". Conclusion: There, feedback has been given. I've settled that this is how you do your thing, and since I'm supporting you to make videos, all of these other things don't affect my continued support. If there are others that might weigh the same decision, I hope my feedback gives you an insight that might tip the scales in your favor.

@Vedran, since we talked about this in the hangout, I won't leave a long reply here. Thanks for the feedback and for being cool about sorting it out!

I’m not sure if it comes from being old (40 something), having kids, or being a small business owner, but I don’t see your transactional attitude and building a community as being mutually exclusive. The only thing I require is communication and honesty. When you have to charge ahead of time and tell me, so long as we get a video, I’m good. I choose to give you my money because your content matters. Kids like my son, who has a fundamentalist christian girlfriend, need a source of solid, we’ll-reasoned, well-researched, content. Thank you.
