Tier Updates and Commissions (Patreon)

Hello everyone, I wanted to talk about a couple changes happening with our Patreon.

First, an update on the living situation of one of our artists. Come September, he will need to find a new place to live. His sister is doing better, but his home life has become cumbersome, and a decision to move has been made by him and his family.

Due to these recent events (and the ongoing pandemic affecting employment and income), our artists have decided to re-open the Investor reward tier and make some readjustments to the existing reward structure. The first three roles are remaining the same, VIP will be renamed to Backstage, and the Investor commission tier will return, now at $100, along with a second commission tier at $40, called VIP. In short, the new tier system will work like this:

Lobby ($1)
Nosebleeds ($5)
Front Row ($10)
Backstage ($20)
VIP ($40)
Investor ($100)

The VIP tier will now be a commission tier, as the Investor tier was before, but at a different level of polish. (To be clear, we are NOT forcing anyone into the new higher cost VIP tier. Anyone who is currently a VIP tier Patron will automatically become a Backstage tier Patron when the new system is implemented, which will effectively be the same as the former VIP tier.

While the Investor tier is a completed picture, fully lined and colored, the VIP tier is line art only. It should be noted that while the line art will be more expensive than the sketch request tiers, it will still be higher quality than the sketch requests, with the Investor tier remaining as the highest quality type of commission we offer.

In addition, we will be adding new rewards for our existing patrons. Starting next month, we will begin doing monthly character polls, open to all patrons $5 and up, where you will be able to vote for which character you want us to draw that month. The last week of every month, we will make a post for you to submit your character suggestions, then the week after that you get to vote on which one we draw. Expect to see the suggestion post in a few weeks.

With the addition of the monthly character poll however, comes the removal of the sketch request polls. Due to the overwhelming majority of Patrons preferring the monthly character poll, we have decided that it is in ForkedTail's and our Patron's best interests that we focus on Ritual Release updates, future comics, and commissions rather than multiple sketch requests a month. (To clarify, these changes will start at the end of the month and take full effect next month. We will still have Sketch Requests for the remainder of July.)

We know this seems sudden, however, we will not let these changes impact our performance in regards to Ritual Release and future comics, and will continue to work hard and provide more updates. This is to supplement our artists and provide more options with which our fans can  support us.
