Before you guys go like "Oh my god burn him he's using AI!!!!!"... I'm not!!

I go to R34 sometimes (believe it or not lol) and sometimes... I find whole pages full of AI generated pictures...

And I thought some look interesting, but a little too fucked up to be an "okay" picture... So I thought why not taking them as refs, and make it something fresh and new? Made by a human being, with flesh and bones lol

What's your take on AI guys? I just feel like there's a lot of artists ready to see it burn and a lot of AI bros praising themselves as artists way too much...

Anyways, I downloaded a few of these pics because they look interesting to do my way, I hope you'll enjoy that concept!

As much as I like Mona, I find AI really distasteful. Even outside of the moral issue of where it sources its training data, it's just so devoid of intent from the artist and lacks individuality. Two different people can type the same prompts in and get pretty much the same result, over and over. The only way to distinguish any sort of style is in the type of prompts selected, which is (in my opinion) extremely boring and uncool. One of the things that annoys me about R34 is that people who generate tons of this stuff effortlessly clog up the character pages and make it a lot harder to find the actual art. I'd much rather see a beginner level drawing than hundreds of AI generated pieces. It just feels more honest and genuine that way. All this being said, while I don't like the use of AI for references, I do like the Mona WIP! She always looks so cute and sexy in your style 👌

Thank you for your take on this! Well I guess training AI without asking for general consent, just to get something that creates a piece in a blink of an eye is kind of shady To answer your second point, that’s pretty much how I ended up browsing a lot of these lol It really bothered to see some of them proposing good ideas, but having a general AI execution soo that’s why I thought it would be a good idea to transform them. Glad you like it tho, but if you guys think this is too much of a bad idea to use these pics as refs, I’ll go back to regular projects then!

I’ll be honest, I thought you got hacked before I read anything. I’m not a fan of AI for art. I just don’t feel the same passion behind it that I would from something that was made by a flesh and blood human. That said… I’m will to see this one out only because I know it’s you. Plus you’ve already done that NFT “reclamation” as I like to look at that one so I trust you

Yeah I guess the title might be a bit missleading lol Thank you for your take, tbh I thought it would have the same impact as what I did with the NFT one, but I guess AI is even more touchy than that Plus it was easier to deal with since I wasn’t interacting with NFTs, but here we can literally say that I’m using AI (not directly tho, but still) I think I’ll do a poll tomorrow to see if you guys are interested to see the end of this piece, but I guess I won’t tackle AI ideas anymore I don’t need to go down that path if it is too problematic
