Some of you might have seen me say it on Twitter or elsewhere, but this year I'm committing to two major projects alone:

  • The ARPG series
  • PokeyPoke

In that order. So I want to talk about what this means.

From now until it's done, my main focus is going to be on the ARPG series. I won't be accepting any other freelance work, YoYo video work, workshops, or anything else until we've wrapped up everything I intend to be in the main series (Which is everything you can see working in the Demo). I'm hoping to put out roughly one video each week, released to $5+ supporters on Patreon a week ahead of the YouTube public.

I will be taking a break here and there. There's a lot of work left to do on the new house. Really basic stuff that is getting frustrating to not have done so I'll likely be taking a day or so each week to just get some furniture built and things tidied away. I doubt this will impact much, a video or two might be late, but I just like to be transparent about where I'm taking time off.

I also don't know which videos will take longer than others yet. Or how many there will be in total. Or how long it will all take. But when it is done, I want to spend time on PokeyPoke again. So at that point (assuming I still feel this way about it) I'll be drawing the vast majority of my video content from the development of that game. Devlogs, mini-tutorials, livestreams, etc. So much has gone into that game that it would be a huge shame to never see it ship, and to develop it in drip feed as I have done so far, is really not sustainable. So I want to put some serious time into it once the ARPG is out of the way. But we can talk more about what that would mean for my content at a later date.

First job is these videos, there's a lot of them to make. So I best get to it!

Cheers everybody, best of luck to you all in 2020!
