I feel like it went pretty well today! I hope some of you we're able to join me for the livestream. As far as I can tell, YouTube is currently processing the 11ish hours of footage I've ordered to be ferried across from twitch.

The source code for the game so far, and all future versions will be available from this itch.io page: http://shaunjs.itch.io/mondev

Thoughts? comments? suggestions?

I'll be putting up some sort of poll here regarding the art theme or style of the game or what we'll be working towards next week for you guys to vote on in the next couple of days =)

Hope you're enjoying it so far!

Hi Shaun, amazing and very informative session. I love the fact that your code is simple to read and make sense of even without watching the stream. I have to say I am fully happy with supporting you ;) As for the suggestions, I know next week you are focusing on the animation but since you are doing a platformer, I have two things I think will be very helpful: -Running up and down ramps. -Jump through platforms. Another thing which is not that important but might be helpful and make the game look more bad ass, is blood splatter when the player dies. That can help people with any similar effect they might need. I have no idea how to do it but blood that is effected by gravity and splats on the ground could be awesome to learn. Anyway, thanks again and keep on being awesome :).

initially i was hesitant about going for slopes as I didn't think it'd mix well with the game type but actually I think it could totally work and let us do some cool things with the level design. Will try and work it in if I can! Jump through platforms for sure. Blood splatter etc is also definitely coming, I avoided going for that touch early on since there's no art style or anything yet. Glad you're enjoying it!

Hi Shaun, I hope you are doing better. Quick question, are you doing the moving platforms? I tried to do it but the vertical one gave me trouble...
