Week 1 - Clean up & gear up. (Patreon)
Content
Hello again! Today I've caught up on patron messages, set my computer back up (had moved it downstairs for some local mp stuff over the holidays!), paid my taxes, cleaned up my office a bit, cleaned up the house a bit, answered my emails, planned a bit of script for the next platformer part and so on. I'd wanted to kick things straight into gear with a video this Friday but a full tutorial might not quite make it. We might be looking at something smaller instead while I catch up and get all the gears moving again. Will start cracking at video work properly tomorrow though and we'll see where I end up on Friday.
Going to start numbering the weekly updates as a fun way to watch them increase towards 52 over the course of 2018.
This week in Best Laid Plans:
My plan currently is to kick off with another Platformer part, but I also want to revamp my old Patreon video as I don't really have anything that's up to date to draw people here. I'd wanted to do this two weeks ago but I ended up collapsing straight into Christmas Mode™ from which there is no return. That might come the following week. After which we'll probably go back to the Platformer, and from then to a Patron Poll Selected Topic™. I'd love to try and get two of these things done in one week if I can pull that off, so we can get back to being one full video ahead of public release. Which is added value for all you $5+ crew and also just peace of mind for my video schedule.
At the horizon:
It's a new year! And this year as I've stated previously, I want to do a lot more actual game development that can feed back into tutorial content and create a cycle of me improving my craft, making games, making tutorials, to improve everyone's craft. But January is going to look fairly status-quo in terms of a couple of new Platformer episodes and a Patron video while we oil up the gears. In February I'd like to try some new stuff so keep an eye out for plans there.
Final weekly thought:
As you may have all noticed by now, I'm bad at timetabling. There's always work I've forgotten or time that I assume to exist that does not. So thank you all for your continued patience and let me officially remind you to never trust my plans beyond them representing very honest intent. We always get there in the end, but the path is an unpredictable one.
Thank you all again for your support, any questions, suggestions, comments, etc, you know what to do!
