London GameMaker Meetup + Updates (Patreon)

So on Tuesday night this week I went to the very first GameMaker Meetup, hosted by Quang of AsobiTech (MaoMao Castle), Juju Adams and Jupiter Hadley in London!

Talks were given by Jupiter, JuJu Adams of community work & Hyper Light Drifter fame and Russel Kay from YoYo Games. I've recorded the lot (you can even see my camera on its tripod right there ^) so I'm going to spend some time editing these together so I can share the talks with everyone. Depending how we want to go about publishing this, these videos might be my friday YouTube upload.

Monday was spent on Tribal Tension as usual and Wednesday was spent travelling home (and also finally getting a haircut >_>) so I'll be honest, not much work has gotten done on the slopes tutorial. There's a reason I didn't promise it for this week! I'm also in touch with YoYo Games about maybe doing some freelance work for them. I don't want to leave you all hanging on the slopes video for too long but big videos can sometimes simply take a long time and interruptions do happen. As I said last time though I'm pretty happy with where it's going and I hope the final result will be worth the wait.

Back on the meetup though, this was a really cool event and they're planning to make them monthly! Follow GMMeetup on Twitter for more info. It was good to put faces to some names and chat GameMaker for an evening, many of us were there until the bar closed!
