That heavenly aura soothingly emanating from Ellen in panel three, as though she herself were a goddess from the game giving Rich the paladin his mission, symbolizes how time consuming the comic shop background in that panel would have been on a deadline.

In all seriousness, though, I do like having abstract backgrounds like that, particularly since they can be less busy than what might literally be behind them.

Kind of a random question and maybe it’s been discussed elsewhere but nothing came up on google with my limited search: Since Ellen is pretty busty, what’s been her experience with other people, both men and women, policing her body and how she dresses? From my reading it seems like women with larger breasts are often criticized and shamed for “flaunting” them when they are simply wearing temperature- and situation-appropriate clothing that would not attract any notice on a smaller-breasted person. Given that Ellen was a guy until fairly recently I’d imagine that it would feel even more bizarre and I’m curious how she reacts to those situations.

I share an apartment with someone with larger breasts. She's been criticized for flaunting it when she was wearing clothing specifically designed to conceal her assets (just not as much as she normally wore, because it was hot out.) I would assume that Ellen wouldn't need to put up with this as much, as she's in a web comic that doesn't strive to portray "realistic" levels of toxicity.

I'm starting to really, really hope meeting Ellen is the catalyst to Rich beginning a journey of character growth, in a way similar to how meeting Sarah helped Larry learn more about his own self.

Remember that Ellen also has memories of growing up as a girl and young woman in Nioi's/Lord Tedd's world. Of course, who knows how that universe's people treat the large-boobed?
