Commentary

I decided it made sense for Ellen to revisit the name situation, and wrote what was essentially the third panel stretched out over three panels.

It felt a little light on actual content, however, and we wound up with this instead. I also like showing more of Ellen's reaction to George and Larry's character choices.

In Ellen's imagination, she's used her default FV5 beam. That beam usually results in a consistent height and figure on masculine targets, with originally feminine targets ending up with more curves.

There's a possibility for targets ending up with different heights and figures if there's enough of a size difference. This is potentially relevant with big and tall George, but Ellen's imagination isn't accounting for this (in part because canon Ellen has no idea this would be the case).

Ellen can do more diverse transformations now, so she could have imagined using one of those, but then everyone wouldn't conveniently be the same height, and I felt that worked best for the panel.

Do it Ellen! Give into temptation.

"George the Sorceress is acceptable." Now I'm picturing George's alignment in-game as "acceptable." Not good, not evil, but acceptable. Come to think of it, that might apply to storyline George too...

Stephen Gilberg

Reminds me of "Housepets!" when a sorceress made a game of make-believe a lot realer.

Windscion

Larry -> Laurie, this isn't that hard.

Viktor

Larry’s playing a bard. Obviously she should be named Lorelei.

Dan Merget

The protagonist of the cancelled-too-soon TV series "Dead Like Me" was a woman named George (short for Georgia).

Did I miss the posting of comic 42? It's not in my feed...

I'd recommend making the offer privately. Explicitly outside of Rich's presence, though it's less of an issue of the offer being made to both at once rather than one on one. Of course, one on one would be the best of all.

Some Ed

Lawful acceptable, Neutral acceptable, Chaotic acceptable, Acceptable good, Acceptable neutral, or Acceptable evil? Or is George just true Acceptable acceptable?

Some Ed

Panel one George doesn't look equally V5'd to me. Personally, I don't see this as an issue. My headcanon says Ellen instinctively understands that imaginary George would prefer a slightly slighter bust, while imaginary Larry very much wants the full deal, and so has provided what they want. Sure, it was a bit complicated working out the exact height thing while adjusting her beam for imaginary George, but despite just being a figment of Ellen's imagination, imaginary George's feelings are very real to Ellen, so it's worth the effort.

There was also one in an old English book series... Famous five, I think?

Gremlins! My email and the links at the bottom of this page are missing 42.

Maybe it contained vogon poetry and the server was so appalled it destroyed the post ;)

Dan Merget

Sounds like a synonym for "neutral" to me: has moral principles, but wouldn't go too far out of their way to help a stranger in need.

For some reason it’s at the $5.00 tier, so everyone lower than that tier doesn’t see it… why is it set at the $5.00 tier?

Thisguy

@Dan! “Who is Ellen - 42 - HD” is set at the $5.00 tier instead of the $3.00 tier like the rest of EGS:NP Is this intentional? If so, why?

wargrunt42

This reminds this article: https://www.rpg.net/columns/timeout/timeout3.phtml Other alignments to consider: Choatic Stupid, Lawful A-hole and Whiny Neutral

Prof Sai

How long would it last if Ellen did that? Can she do permanent now?

egscomics

Because I am an imperfect being who makes mistakes, and had no idea I'd done that until I saw these comments in my inbox. Sorry about that.

egscomics

Authorial intent was that George's shirt is simply very loose, but I'm not the boss of your headcanon.

ijuinkun

A month by default, but if a person likes the enchantment they are under, they can keep it going instead of resisting it.

ijuinkun

Lawful A-Hole would be the alignment of choice for people who play the "Overly Judgemental Paladin" class.

ijuinkun

I bet Rich would panic a bit at realizing that Ellen can turn guys into girls at will.
