Progress Report May 2023 (Patreon)

Hi again folks!

Lots of progress made this month so let's talk about it!

Let's start with that big part 1 patch that I’m working on.

Programming

Most of the major/minor ones have been dealt with! Splashcreen will be easy I just need to make a png for it like the Warning screen. However the Michael mode specific scenes and new CG for Noel I haven’t gotten around to doing this month as I’ve been focused on programming Faye’s route.

Speaking of Faye’s Route…

Faye’s route is 100% programmed into the game! She is playable HOWEVER many of her CGs are just blank images with the CG’s number so give me a week or two to sketch those out before I feel comfortable releasing a build! Her route is 45K words long if you exhaust all her choices so she took me quite a bit longer than the others to program and playtest in the game. For reference, the main 6 (plus irene) are about 15- 25K words max so I essentially did the work of programming 1 ½ - 2 routes this month. Though I’ve gotten better at programming within python/renpy so it was easier this time around to get her into the game.

With that said! Let's show off some art stuff since seeing is believing.

Art

A peak at the restaurant mcs takes Faye for your romantic date! Or a platonic one! Those exist. Illustrated by TJ Lee/Deets

Next, we have a rather… spooky looking background. I can’t say when or why in part 2 it shows up but it’s rather ominous. This ‘cellar’ was illustrated by me!

Next let’s we have some, admittedly rather rough-looking placeholder sprites of two of Hell’s sovereigns! Left is Jack Montgomery and right is Rosé Asmodeus. I sorta want to have Montgomery’s extra arms in a more interesting position but since I just needed something to put on screen while programming this will do. For Asmodeus, I want to give him multiple hand poses as he is a very expressive and energetic demon!

As stated last month I’m also going to be revealing the character designs for both the Hell Sovereigns and The Choir so here are this months!

(Top) Lust Sovereign: Rosé Asmodeus

Soverign of the Lust ring: Rosé Asmodeus! He is a succubus who, to no one's surprise, has an affinity for sex. Rosé strongly advocates keeping Lust a sex-positive ring and its people happy as Lust is the most populated ring of Hell. He also knows a bit of potion chemistry that spices up the bedroom, appearance, and/or improves health!

Like all succubi, he can switch between sexes and identifies as genderfluid switching between he/him and she/her pronouns depending on appearance.

(Bottom) Angel Seraphim

This months Seraph reveal is The Angel Seraphim! He is in change of the angel class who make up the working class and messengers!

I wanted the Angel Seraphim to give a certain *vibe* if you know what I'm saying. The happy go-lucky church going door to door “have you heard the good word” type of vibe. I may change up his wings since I drew them really fast but the overall design should remain the same. Also should be noted that The Virtues Serpahim also has wings I just forgot to draw em on her sheet. Oops.

Other

Some other stuff that’s been or is being worked on is some new backgrounds, sprites (of existing and new characters) and music but due to wanting to keep some of it a surprise I have to withhold them for the time being. Once I have Faye’s route build ready in a week or two most will be shown!
