I know you're saying you should have watched this sooner Nick, but the thing with MHA is it's like the stock market. It peaks and then it's very meh in between then peaks even higher than the last. That's the only thing I don't really enjoy of MHA, but the peak scenes are always legendary.

Glad you’re enjoying it!! Season 1 is epic! There’re a few Great Divide episodes (most of them are recap episodes at the beginning of some of the seasons), but the main arcs are insane!

There is at least one fight like this in every season. It's honestly such a good anime. There are slower parts in later seasons, those are world building arcs (without which, this series wouldn't be nearly as fleshed out or as good), but you can't be moving at 100% all the time. I have watched this series through so many times, and I get chills at the same parts every time. The music composition, the buildups, the way they make the emotions in every major moment feel authentic and organic is amazing. Take Mineta out (while I think he has his purpose later) and this anime is an all timer overall. The way they organically world build and do character development is on another level that isn't matched by any other major action anime other than maybe JJK.

It is fucking great. It has it's fillerish episodes, where they're just doing school stuff, and follows some regular shonen tropes, but is all worth it for these fights and the characters. Bakugo became one of my favorite characters later on, you'll see .

And I am happy you share the interest in other characters, part of why some people dont enjoy the show as much is coz they dont like the amount of screentime and development side characters get and they d rather the show just focus on the main 3, but in my opinion that d be a shame coz a lot of this class is such interesting characters that you grow to care for.

Problem with second half of season 5 was due to them making the movies. They swapped plot elements around to try to get everything to fit and it ended up a bit garbled. I didn’t really understand what had happened until I read the manga. Still had hype elements there, though.

So happy you’re doing MHA. It holds a special place in my heart and I really enjoy going on this journey with someone. I really like how our main protagonists are all smart. It’s such a cliche to have Harry Potter type protagonist - dumb as sh*t in class, but manages to pull through in fights due to determination and luck. It would be really easy to explain some of Bakugo’s behavior by making him dumb but no, he is extremely intelligent, and quick on his feet too. Likewise Todoroki and Deku. All top students.

Cut the cap, every dub sounds like they are reciting a dictionary at me while every guy is going through unending voice cracks. Even if subtitles sometimes do the dictionary thing too, you can tell that the script is much more casual and fluid for the original voice actors
