In this arc we see the contrast between gon and the king which later swapped... Gon the character who is like a child, brimming with light and happiness went completely dark and emotionless for someone he loved and the king born with nothing but to rule the world became more human than Gon by the end... Gon won but lost everything... The king lost everything but won... It might sound similar but dang it was one of the best story telling ever...

Togashi will forever be the GOAT for me along with Hunter x Hunter. The chimera ant arc is the best piece of media that I have ever scene and I still cry like a baby during episode 135 after watching it so many times. Btw if you ever want more Togashi I highly recommend Yu Yu Hakusho its not equal to HxH but it's still incredible and has the best tournament arc ever in my opinion.

This arc was good, but in my honest opinion that was it, it was just good. I think that this arc had one of the greatest moments in hxh but it also had one of the worst moments in hxh. And I don't think that the ending, the finale including the whole fight, lived up to the hype it had. The only amazing things in that fight was obviously Netero vs Mereum, than ofcourse Killua, he is just 10 out of 10, best character from hxh in my opinion. Seeing Gon in that state was amazing a chilling not to mention seeing his full potential. But it was just this one thing he can't use again and he almost one shoted Pitou with it. The ending was overall unnecessary slow I would, there was a lot of slow motion and narrator talking. Like 10 episodes was only 5 minutes of the fight or something like that, that was crazy, not a fan of that. And the fact that the king and the other royal guards died from radiation poisoning from nuclear explosion is also not something I'm a fan of. And they were some characters I was not really attached at all. I would say that the part with phantom troupe was better than half of the finale. But overall it was good, Killua was goat and the music was amazing. But I would say that the next arc is better story wise, for me it was more interesting, we get insight to the lore, we get to see how the world is really big and how it is all connected, it makes you feel like you are part of that world and I really liked this next arc.

I’m completely different with the ants dying to the radiation. I think it’s supposed to symbolize how humanity may not be physically capable of killing the ants, but a small nuclear weapon humans have made is stronger than the best nen users. It’s said to be the most inhumane weapon, as it can be used to eradicate any enemy no matter who they are, from ants to leaders to civilians. It’s supposed to show how humanities strength comes from its infinite malice as netero said, and how humans will always have evil in them to create these killing machines, and just overall highlights how much work humans put into these bombs and weapons

I love this arc! The whole symbolism of Gon being born as a pure good person and turning into a "monster" just driven by his hatred, and the king who turned from a being of pure hatred into a kind and loving person, is just too good!

crazy how Gon started as a human and ended as a monster in this arc; while Meruem started as a monster and ended as a human. Beautiful story.

The last episode made me cry so hard my first watch through. I wish you hadn't fast forward at the end there it really increased the emotion at the end it shows them playing their last games and the fun they have together up until he can no longer see and they meet thier end together 😢😭

Only few episodes or Anime made me cry like that. There is Clannad After Story, Your Lie in April and ... Meruem and Komugi. Never seen an arc like this before anywhere. Its my favorite. And I have forgotten how good HxH is. Meruem one of the best antagonists. The story of a blind girl who taught a god to see - Rip :(
