Nick Geto descending into madness wasn’t a overnight thing it’s took him a whole year since riko amanais death he was left with really really bad ptsd by toji and he kept contemplating if what he was doing was the right thing since no matter how many curses where exorcised more would come back never ending and more and more people kept dying all a sorcerers life was exorcise and keep exorcising until one day you would meet your end it was driving him crazy you can see my man’s was very depressed and then came yuki only to fan a flame that was inside of geto which led him to his plan of killing all non sorcerers so that curses would finally cease to exist because curses are only born from regular peoples negative emotions thus getting rid of all normal humans who can’t control their curses energy would get rid of curses and Haibaras death was what sealed it for him because Haibaras was the type of sorcerer who gave it his all always looked on the bright side always wanted what was best for everyone and he was killed this finally pushing geto off the edge deciding to go through with his plan you could also say that the final straw was when he saved the two little girls in the village because the townsfolk there where treating the girls bad because they could see curses and they could use cursed energy and that’s when he finally did it killed all the townspeople finally setting his plan to motion no going back

All I'll say is, in terms of time frame, remember that jjk0 happened after premature death but before season 1. Try and remember what Geto was like there and what happened in the film
