I feel like the portrayal of Gauche gets a little lost across cultural barriers. His actual feelings for Marie are more akin to extreme adoration and almost worship, right? Like, I never got the vibe that he was sexually attracted to her and I'm up to date on the manga. Even the nose bleeds. I don't believe those are equivalent to, uh, "climaxing". Nose bleeds come across to me more as a strong expression of enjoyment/embarrassment/shock.

Yeah the sad part is how normal the brother sister stuff is in Anime. That this is very tame ans mostly just a very over protective over baring brother. There are actual animes where the plot is getting the siblings together which is waaay more uncomfortable
