I can't tell you how long I've been anticipating seeing you react to these episodes! One of the best character development moments in the series. It may fall off a bit at the end of Season 4 - but please bear with it. The show is absolutely insane and the story and development is so worth it.

🔥🔥🔥 reaction as always. Some of my favorite episodes come from season 3, 4, and 6. Being completely caught up with the manga, I can say it won't drop off. Season 5 might be a bit slower but it is an important set up season so if I were Nick, I'd just ignore what others say and just enjoy mha for what it is

My comment might be too long, lol, but this episode made me change my point of view on Izuku and Bakugou completely, I think for most people, at first I saw their relationship as a bit strange and empty on Bakugou's part, but it is a matter of understanding, he felt that deku looked down on him because he recognized his human value before the physical or what his quirk represented. He was always used to being fawned over for his powers, for being a quirk prodigy, literally, but Deku noticed those qualities before anyone else, this gets deeper and deeper as the series progresses, but man, I love these two. the "the image of victory that I have is of you" line??? GET OUT OF HEREEEE, peak as always.

Yep this was a Bakugo problem from the start, if he didnt think so little of Deku from the begining he could have accepted Deku being "better" and more deserving than him. Deku number 1 hero 💜

Now that you've heard it in the original Japanese, I really want to see a reaction to the dub version as well. Bakugo's Eng VA did just as good, if not, a better job bringing the characters' emotions to life. (Knowing the reaction will never happen since Nic doesn't like the eng dub version at all enough to watch it 😅😔)

their final conversation, I love how they now have a more productive rivalry rather than a toxic one. Even if I stopped after season 4, I'm regularly going back to watch this fight because its shows perfectly both a emotional battle and a technical one. That makes it so special for me.

It's not toxic to not want to cry in front of other people, esp what are largely people you don't know. I'm a chick and I don't like it, it was often used against me when I was bullied. Better not to show that weakness to anyone but those closest to you. But you still express yourself. You're not stifling the emotions, just the action. There's nothing wrong with that.

I'm 26 and didn't find out I was autistic till 20. It's really easy for me to get overwhelmed with my emotions and my first reaction is to just cry. Especially if I'm angry. I would get bullied for crying at school and even at work by coworkers and supervisors! People say it cools off a bit at the end of season 4 but in my eyes it was needed because if I remember correctly it's the last cool down before stuff gets real. Season 5 has the huge lore drop followed by that arc and those moments and season 6 is...... insane.

I'm so glad you got to this episode, and that it hit so hard for you - as an up-to-date manga reader for mha, Bakugo (imo) has the most character development of anyone, and the most sincere. This ep really opens the floor for why he feels the way he does, why it can be damaging for a child to grow up thinking they alone are the best/"gifted", and is, over all, just the starting line for him. Can't wait for you to see where he goes from here, and the rest of the show so far!

"Why was it me that ended All Might?" God that kills me every single time. He had been shouldering the blame on himself. Imagine that, the top hero that you've admired your whole life, and you think YOU are the one that ended his career? And the way the VA said it was perfection, like he still has that angry Bakugo voice but it was almost a whisper, which is hard to do. I'm so glad you finally got to this episode! And lets not forget the animation though. Man do I love when there were some shots of them with a completely black background with Bakugo's explosion in his hand or Deku with the electricity around him. So beautiful, I can watch that on a loop!!

MHA is that show with extreme highs and then a lot of ....slice of life. Looking back that slice of life and training eps are what makes us care and understand all these characters...but when you are 1st time watching it can feel like a bit of a drag for sure, coz Horikoshi really loves taking his time.

for reactions like this is why i subbed to you, its just so genuine and real, you can tell when ur actually enjoying a scene/show. gotta say tho there are times when the reactions seem a little fake/over enthusiastic (usually for long animes like naruto or one piece) but i get that you have to be like that sometimes for the audience who may really enjoy the specific scene/show. But when you have a genuine reaction like this episode, we can tell how much ur enjoying it.
