The first part was my normal lining with a thicker outline and thinner, detailed linework inside. The second part was all the same size of brush for the linework and I think that confused the way I was coloring. I've became more laid back when it comes to the final lineart, not letting the bit of OCD take over and making sure everything is clean and nice. Over the years I've noticed precise linework can make the piece look stiff. So I say some imperfections in encouraged, especially varied linewidth all over.
