-Dragon trainers in Paldea are girls that grew up idolizing a  certain gym leader from Johto. They wore costumes and pretended to be  JUST like her. Nowadays the costumes barely fit, if at all, and these  girls became mom's with very embarrassed children. The cape is a bit  much.
