Imbedded ice is a fun motif to build designs around. They certainly would develop their own shells over time. It's probably a developing structure of ice under the snow aswell to protect the worm lad within.

I like the idea of the older snowbeasts getting smarter and being able to communicate outside of "FRIEND!" even if they want to be friends they might even understand personal bubbles...unless you are harassing their pack of friends. This one might even be the "lord of the mountain" sort of deal and actually hold great sway, a proper mid game boss critter that everyone questions the job to go fight them.

I have a couple more versions of snowbeasts I want to draw before I start figuring out a few scenes with them. Of the TF variety. Which will be having like branches and such within their body and a fruit slush type snowbeast.

Gosh it looks like I referenced the reference side pose for this piece. I'll make sure the rest actually have non standardized posing as we'll be out of concepting maybe as overtly.

Would be cool if the ice kinda drifts to the surface over time, in layers, and solidifies there. Like it's shed from the inner worm thing as it grows and ages. So then it's really obvious that more and thicker ice means older and more (alienly-)intelligent.

smart like onion. Some sort of layering probably happens on all ele'in critters.
