Welcome to Local News at 2, where I tell you guys what's coming, or what's to come.

Phew, it's been a hot minute since I did these posts. I guess the best way to start this out again is doing a recap of last year.

What the actual f#ck happened in 2022? - Well, it was a combination of several things. Since I got my new computer (named Emily, successor of Gerald) I thought that with the super-fast power it had, I could do stuff as many times as quick. In some ways that was the case, especially with rendering, simulating and the fact I can now make animations comfortably. But the whole case was turned moot when I decided that I could play god with my work and decided the best action was making as much stuff as possible, all at the same time. But it all came to me like a semi-truck and as a consequence, everything was deadlocked. From June, all the way to December, I could not advance on anything whatsoever. Time and time again I struggled to get a footing with everything, but nothing budged in a significant way. Couple that and all that in a frantic act of desperation to make back the investment turned to be a catastrophic blow to my mental health. And as you can see, everything dried up.

Sheesh, that sounds tough, but what's up now? - As crazy as it sounds, I decided to improve my workflow in a much healthier way to increase productivity, that is by means of sorting out what I can realistically achieve, split years in quarters and make it a goal to finish them in said quarters instead, and to cull as many unnecessary pending model commissions. All that in no due large part thanks to a little blackboard I purchased recently. Since then, I feel that I've finally started to get my priorities straight and start getting models done at last!

So...what's actually up? - This new mode of operation had been started up by the start of this year. I'm still getting used to it, and from the looks of it, I'm getting much better. I've still got model commissions to complete, albeit not as many as last year, but it's just a matter of finally getting my things in order.

Plans for February - As I can clearly see, Patrons had been starting to leave in flocks, and I don't blame them. My insane plans had all but left my Patreon in shambles. But now since I found my footing (so far) I can actually attend to this place properly.

  • My goal so far is to get that Squid Sister strip tease animation up and going, but truth be told, I feel that with my limited skill set would be a beyond daunting task for now, so instead, to build up to the animation, I'll be doing some minor animations to help get used to all this. Right now, I actually am planning a small little animation for Valentine's Day, something I actually wanted to do for a very long time, so stay tuned for that!
  • Of course, since all that crap happened, Pearl and Kumatora suffered the full brunt of 2022. Speaking of which, I didn't get as many beta testers as I wanted for Pearl, but I am ironing out many kinks she still has. But with my new modus de operandi, expect Pearl to coming out by mid-February. I'll make sure her release be something special.
  • And of course, my current model commissions.

Opinions quite needed - Despite all what I said, I can't shake the feeling that I've seriously failed you all. The lack of content for you guys, the unmoving of Patreon Requests, among other things. I'd really love to hear input from you guys and see where I can improve, what I should do with my tiers, etc.

Hopefully everything goes as planned, so as always, I'll see you when I see you!

I think you're giving yourself too much flack. There are lots of things that happened last year that were beyond your control. And sometimes in the heat of the moment we can bite off more than we can chew. I wouldn't feel too bad about your Kumatora and Pearl projects not being 100% done. It's maybe a bit winceworthy to say, but the fact that there are other artists online using your incomplete models is pretty encouraging. As for future projects, be sure to continue to maintain that healthy workflow. If you feel like you're going to be working on something strenuous, don't be afraid to inform us on here, the Discord or on Twitter. Fans will understand. As excited as I am for the Squid Sisters strip animation, it makes sense to work on some smaller animations first. I think you're definitely off to a good start for a beginner. Keep trucking along. You're doing better than you think! :)
