Chapter 2411: Extra - A Bit Ugly

Grandma Lu had been watching Mengmeng until she entered the Meng family's house, and only then did she finally shift her gaze away.

As soon as little Mengmeng returned to the Meng family, she immediately let go of Ying Xi's hand and rushed towards the study.

"Daddy, Daddy, I'm back."

Meng Yunzheng was in the middle of writing when he heard her and immediately set aside his pen. He opened the study door, and before he could do so completely, little Mengmeng, with her rosy cheeks, had already rushed in.

"Daddy."

Meng Yunzheng picked up his daughter, took out a handkerchief, and carefully wiped the sweat from her. He smiled and asked, "Did you have fun?"

"Yes," Mengmeng nodded vigorously. "Daddy, what are you doing?"

"Writing," Meng Yun Zheng replied as he held her and sat down behind his desk. He pointed at the characters on the paper and asked, "Do you still remember the characters I taught you yesterday?"

Little Mengmeng squinted her eyes, her face scrunching up, and then shook her head, saying confidently, "I don't remember anymore."

Meng Yunzheng sighed, "Alright, those characters had a few too many strokes. It's not easy for a nearly three-year-old to remember them."

"Can Daddy teach me again?"

Mengmeng shook her head. "We learned characters yesterday, so today is for drawing."

Meng Yunzheng chuckled. "Alright, whatever you say. Let's draw then, and after we're done, we'll have lunch."

The little one immediately became excited, familiarly grabbing two pieces of drawing paper. She handed one to Meng Yunzheng and spread the other in front of herself.

Meng Yunzheng placed her on a special high chair beside him, a chair designed by Lu Erbai based on Shu Yu's child's high chair. The chair was the same height as the desk and had a detachable tray in front so that she could place her drawing paper on Meng Yun Zheng's desk, allowing them to draw side by side.

Meng Yun Zheng moved his own chair aside, making room for her.

Mengmeng quickly settled into her seat, spread out her paper, and started to dip her brush in ink.

Meng Yunzheng raised an eyebrow. "You already know what you want to draw so quickly?"

"I have a lot of ideas today," Mengmeng replied without looking up.

Meng Yunzheng laughed. "Alright, if you have ideas, then draw them all."

After saying that, he focused on his own work, and in the spacious study, father and daughter each worked on their own projects without disturbing each other.

Mengmeng's movements were fast, and after finishing her drawing, she admired it for a while. Then she turned her little head to look at Meng Yunzheng's drawing.

As she looked, she furrowed her brows. Daddy's drawing... it wasn't very good, all black and squiggly, like worms. It couldn't compare to her colorful masterpiece. No wonder Mommy told Daddy to draw less; now she understood why.

Mengmeng suddenly had an epiphany.

Meng Yunzheng finished his drawing and, just like his daughter, stood there admiring it for a moment. Then he took out a seal from his drawer and stamped it in one corner of the paper.

Mengmeng's eyes lit up. Huh, do you have to use this thing after finishing a drawing?

Meng Yunzheng put down the seal and raised his head, meeting his daughter's round eyes.

He immediately smiled. "Is it done?"

Mengmeng nodded. "Daddy, take a look?"

Ignoring the colorful mess on her clothes, she proudly handed her masterpiece to Meng Yun Zheng, quietly waiting for his praise.

Meng Yunzheng took one look at it and thought, "...A bit ugly."
