Chapter 2368: What Shu Quan Told Me

Liu Jie thought, "Meng Yunzheng is skilled, and I can't handle him. But killing a traitor is more than enough."

Rong Hou thought that everyone in the room had fallen, so he had used a heavy dosage of poison. He didn't expect Liu Jie to still have the strength to attack, despite looking unsteady on his feet.

Meng Yunzheng was behind Rong Hou and immediately warned, "Be careful."

But it was too late. Rong Hou's martial skills were not on par with his older brother, and he could barely defend himself. Faced with Liu Jie, a master, he couldn't even withstand a single move. Liu Jie's longsword pierced his chest, and blood flowed from the wound onto the ground.

Meng Yunzheng quickly kicked Liu Jie out of the room. Liu Jie clutched his chest, looking at Rong Hou, who had collapsed with a smile.

He raised his head and looked at Meng Yun Zheng. "I killed Rong Hou. Are you going to kill me to avenge him?"

He knew that Meng Yunzheng wouldn't, or else he would have used poison from the start.

Meng Yunzheng kept a tense expression and ordered someone to carry Rong Hou away for Zhao Xi to examine. He had the others tied up.

Shu Yu approached the bed and looked at the injured young man. He seemed to have been awakened by the commotion, and his eyes, despite his severe injuries, gleamed with hostility.

Shu Yu chuckled softly. "I'm curious. What's your identity that they're protecting you like this?"

"You... won't... die... well..."

Shu Yu picked up a pillow and covered the young man's face, waiting until he passed out before letting go. "You're almost half-dead, yet you're still talking tough."

The young man fainted, but it didn't take long for Zhao Xi to arrive.

For now, this young man couldn't die. His identity was undoubtedly useful.

Zhao Xi entered the room, bringing news of Rong Hou's death. Liu Jie had been determined to take his life, and he was a skilled killer. He knew exactly where the fatal blow was, and there was no chance for Rong Hou.

Meng Yunzheng only nodded in response. Rong Hou had committed many atrocities in the black market. If not for his usefulness, he wouldn't have been spared.

However, Meng Yunzheng had promised Rong Hou that he would treat his family well, as long as they didn't get involved in any treasonous activities. He would seek the emperor's favor for them.

After handling Rong Hou's situation, it was time to gather information.

The young man's wounds were not yet healed, so he couldn't be interrogated. Liu Jie was a tough nut to crack, and extracting information from him wouldn't be easy.

Meng Yunzheng shifted his attention to Shu Feng, who was somewhat... familiar, attempting to glean some information from him.

When Shu Feng woke up, the room was dimly lit, as if a cloth had been placed over his eyes.

He tried to move his limbs but found himself securely bound.

"Shu Yu!" Shu Feng shifted in his chair twice. "Are you here? What do you want to do?"

Shu Yu leaned forward, glancing at him. "Why are you so agitated? What could I possibly do to you? I just want to ask you a few questions."

Shu Feng sneered, "Ask me questions? Don't expect to get any information from me."

"I bet you don't know much information either, not even my master's divination. I find it strange. My master was captured by you initially, right?"

Shu Feng was momentarily stunned, "How do you know?" After asking, he regretted asking such a foolish question. They must have reported back by now.

Unexpectedly, Shu Yu said, "Of course, Shu Quan told me."
