Chapter 2133: No News from the Wei Family Yet

Yu Shi's expression stiffened briefly, a hint of embarrassment crossing her face. She quickly put on a smile and said, "Right, right, Song Le, look at me. This child is already attending school; he's a scholar now. We can't call him 'Gouwa' anymore."

Shu Yu nodded in agreement, then turned back to continue her conversation with Aunt Hong.

Yu Shi were slow in setting the table, seemingly reluctant to leave.

Ignoring them, Shu Yu asked Aunt Hong, "This time, apart from bringing Xiao Songle to see you, I also wanted to ask if you've heard any news about Xiao Songle's mother."

Aunt Hong sadly shook her head, "It's been so many years since the Wei family left, and there hasn't been any news. I have no idea where they went."

Xiao Songle lowered his head, looking disappointed.

In Aunt Hong's view, Xiao Songle was living well with her nephew now. Even if his mother returned, she couldn't provide him with a better life. Besides, the Wei family behind her was a group of vampires who would only drag Xiao Songle down.

Aunt Hong was being selfish, but at this point, she only hoped for Xiao Songle to have a safe and comfortable life; everything else was unimportant.

Shu Yu, on the other hand, thought it would be better to find the Wei family, especially if Xiao Songle was going to pursue an official career in the future. It was crucial to locate them now.

After talking for a while Yu Shi still hadn't left. Ying Xi cleared her throat and began to usher them out.

Aunt Hong furrowed her brow and said, "There are so many guests outside. Instead of staying here, why don't you go and attend to them?"

Yu Shi reluctantly left.

Once they were gone, Aunt Hong invited Shu Yu to finish her meal.

During the meal, she looked at Xiao Songle and hesitated for a moment before asking, "This time, when you came to the capital, do you plan to stay for a while? Will you be staying in the capital permanently, or just for a few days?"

"Unless something unexpected happens, we plan to stay in the capital for about two months."

Aunt Hong's face lit up with joy. "Two months?"

"Yes, if Auntie has time in the future, you can come to visit Xiao Songle. We're still living in the small courtyard three streets away from here, just like the last time you came."

"Yes, I remember the address." Since they would be staying for a while, Aunt Hong felt relieved. Otherwise, she would really be reluctant to let Xiao Songle leave.

Shu You added, "Originally, Xiao Songle's uncle was supposed to come with us today, but he had some last-minute matters to attend to, so he asked me to bring Xiao Songle first. He'll come to visit once he's done."

Aunt Hong waved her hand. "No need, my place is a mess. When I miss Gouwa, I'll go find him."

"Alright."

After finishing the meal, Shu Yu prepared to leave. Since Aunt Hong had no intention of accepting the money and had explained her reasons, Shu Yu didn't insist further. She had Song Da Zhuang's grave moved, and they would visit it after Ah Yun finished his exams.

As Shu Yu was about to leave, the members of the Hong family all tried to persuade her to stay, but Aunt Hong waved them off, saying, "Miss Lu has other matters to attend to. We've already delayed her for quite some time. Don't keep bothering her."

Reluctantly, the family made way for them to leave. Aunt Hong led Xiao Songle out to see them off. Once they had boarded the carriage and it had disappeared from view, she heaved a sigh and turned back.

Back in the courtyard, everyone gathered around, and Yu Shi couldn't help but ask, "Mother, why did that Miss Lu come to the capital at this time? What is she doing here?"
