Chapter 1912: Seeking Zhou Tiedong

This was Shu Yu's second visit to Tuqiao Village; the last time, she had only stopped at the village entrance.

Once again, when they reached the village entrance, they paused briefly. Shu Yu asked for directions from a woman chatting at the entrance. The woman, upon seeing the familiar carriage, was suddenly surprised and hurriedly ran over to inquire.

"Is, is, is this County Princess?" The woman was so excited that she stuttered. Shu Yu could tell that news of Zhou Tiedong's situation had already spread throughout Tuqiao Village.

She smiled and nodded at the woman. "Yes, I am."

"Oh my, County Princess has graced us with her presence. It's truly... truly an honor. We've heard about what County Princess did. That fella, Ah Dong, really owes you a lot. You're truly a great benefactor, full of compassion, like a fairy descended from heaven..." The woman's praise grew more exaggerated, and her voice became quite loud, attracting other villagers who had been standing farther away.

Although Shu Yu appreciated the compliments, she knew she needed to focus on the matter at hand.

She quickly interrupted the woman. "Auntie, could you please help us by pointing in the direction of the Zhou family? I need to find Zhou Tiedong."

"Uh? Sure, sure, I'll take County Princess there. Follow this way." The woman ran ahead, pointing in the direction as she led the way.

Shu Yu sighed inwardly and followed along. Inside the carriage, Lu Erbai remarked, "The atmosphere in this village seems quite pleasant. You saved Zhou Tiedong, and the other villagers are very grateful, showering you with praise."

Da Bao chimed in, "Yeah, that lady was laying it on thick. She almost made sister Ah Yu stumble with her flattery. She's really good at buttering people up."

Shu Yu playfully swatted Da Bao's head. "Is there anything about me that doesn't fit the description?"

"Nope, fits perfectly." Da Bao inherited his father's knack for adapting to the situation and immediately put on a sycophantic smile, patting Shu Yu's shoulder in flattery.

Shu Yu let out a light snort. Soon, the carriage came to a stop.

The woman who had been guiding them had already shouted, "Sister-in-law, Sister-in-law, come out quickly! County Princess is here, your family's great benefactor is here."

As Shu Yu got down from the carriage, Zhou Tiedong's mother rushed out of the yard.

She had initially thought she was mishearing, but when she saw Shu Yu standing outside, she was genuinely shocked. Without thinking, she wanted to kneel down. "County Princess."

"Please, get up. I'm here to find Zhou Tiedong."

Zhou Tiedong's mother quickly stepped aside to welcome Shu Yu inside. "County Princess, please come in. Dong is inside. I'll go call him to meet you."

"He's still recovering from his injuries, right? There's no need to wake him up; we can talk there with everyone." With so many people around, it wasn't essential.

Zhou Tiedong's mother nodded repeatedly. "Yes, County Princess, please come in."

Inside the house, Zhou Tiedong had already heard the commotion and was trying to get out of bed. Lu Erbai took a few steps forward and gently pushed him back onto the bed. "Just lie down. Our Ah Yu doesn't mind these formalities."

"Thank you, County Princess."

Zhou Tiedong's mother went to make tea for Shu Yu and her party. Zhou Tiedong's father was probably busy with something outside.

Shu Yu inquired about Zhou Tiedong's injuries. His injuries had improved significantly; the doctor recommended by Meng Yunzheng in the city had been the best, and the medicine had worked quickly.

As long as he continued to rest and took his medicine on time, there shouldn't be any major issues.

However, in recent days, many relatives and friends had heard that he was fine and had come to visit. They meant well, and the Zhou family couldn't turn them away, so most of them were chatting outside the house.
