Chapter 1705: Waiting for Our Good News

Young Master He immediately followed, but he didn't expect that his cousin, who had felt a bit cold and uncomfortable yesterday, now had a high fever.

When he reached out to hold him, he was startled by the intense heat emanating from his body.

Shu Yu reached out and touched the child's forehead, confirming that it was indeed very hot.

When Meng Yunzheng came over this time, he carried mostly poison and sedative-like drugs that could be used as weapons. Besides those, he also had basic medicines for treating injuries and reducing fever.

However, the quantity was not substantial, but the effects of the drugs were quite strong. Young Master He cousin was too young, and he didn't know if it would be safe for him to take them.

Shu Yu explained to him, and Young Master He clenched his teeth, "Give it to him. It's better than letting him continue to burn like this."

In this day and age, a fever could be fatal. Even if not deadly, prolonged fever could lead to mental impairment.

So, Young Master He reluctantly fed the medicine to his cousin. Only time would tell what the outcome would be.

After his cousin took the medicine, Young Master He turned to Uncle Yang and the others, "I'm not skilled in combat, so I'll stay here to take care of my cousin. Uncle Yang, Young Master Meng and Lu Xiangjun are capable people; it's right to follow their lead."

Uncle Yang nodded, "We'll wait for your good news."

He finished speaking, hesitated for a moment, then added with some difficulty, "Although we've had some martial training, we don't have weapons. Even if we find some sticks, we'd still be at a disadvantage against those with swords and knives."

Meng Yunzheng chimed in, "You don't need to worry about that. Our people have gone to find weapons. She'll be here soon."

As he finished speaking, footsteps and clinking sounds could be heard from outside.

Uncle Yang and the others instantly became cautious, quickly turning their heads towards the entrance.

Meng Yunzheng, however, recognized the footsteps as Xia Yi's and took a few steps forward. He saw the weapons on her back and his eyes lit up, "Found them?"

"Yes, I found quite a few, but I only have two hands. These are for you to use for now. I've stored the rest in a small room; I'll fetch them later."

With that, she moved the cloth on her back to the front, revealing a bundle of swords and spears before everyone's eyes.

Uncle Yang and the others were overjoyed, calling everyone over, "Quick, come and get weapons that suit you."

Although there were some bloodstains on the blades, they were likely left from when the black market's people dealt with the beasts.

The weapons weren't of the highest quality; some of the blades were chipped, but given the circumstances, it was better than nothing.

Uncle Yang took a long spear and exclaimed to Meng Yunzheng, "Young Master Meng, your preparations are truly thorough, even providing weapons."

Meng Yunzheng let them get accustomed to the weapons and then walked forward with Shu Yu.

Passing by the cell where the young master was held, they arrived at the cell where the duel participants were kept.

Those inside had heard the commotion; although Meng Yunzheng and his group spoke in low tones, the two cells were relatively close.

Moreover, the noise they were making was substantial. Not only were they leaving the cells, but they were also picking up weapons.

Everyone from the two cells gathered near the door, catching some of what was being said.

Seeing Meng Yunzheng and Shu Yu approaching, although each individual was wary, their eyes sparkled with anticipation.

Meng Yunzheng stopped in front of the door, his gaze sweeping across their faces one by one.
