Chapter 975: Little Ya Er Speaks?

Shu Yu was surprised and asked, "When did she come over?"

"Just before you woke up, she was sleeping in Ah Ning's room," the old lady replied. At first, she was not used to calling her Ah Ning and would always refer to her as San Ya, but the little girl didn't like it. Now, she insisted on reminding everyone of her new name, which sounded pleasant, was easy to remember, and had a good meaning. After a few times, everyone in the Lu family had changed their way of addressing her.

Shu Yu went to take a look in Ah Ning's room upon hearing that Little Ya'er was there. Both Little Ya'er and Ah Ning were sleeping, covered with thin blankets and leaning their heads against each other, sound asleep.

Since they were asleep, Shu Yu didn't want to disturb them. She asked Jiang Kuanyu to take a look and when he confirmed that everything was fine, they both quietly left the room.

Returning to the main hall, Shu Yu asked in a low voice about Little Ya'er's condition. "What did the doctor say?"

The old lady prepared tea for both of them as she replied, "The physical injuries have been treated, and as long as she rests properly, there shouldn't be any problems. The most important thing is her emotional trauma. I heard from Doctor Zhao that the girl woke up once in the middle of the night and again at noon. When she woke up, she just stared blankly at the ceiling and didn't say a word, as if she had lost her soul."

The old lady shook her head, not surprised at all. According to what Shu Yu had said, Little Ya'er had witnessed her only grandfather being killed right in front of her and had spent two days hungry and alone on the hillside. Even adults would have a hard time coping, let alone a child so young.

"Doctor Zhao said that fortunately, Ah Ning was there to talk to her. Maybe because they are both little girls, that little girl finally showed some reaction. Doctor Zhao said that Ah Ning's constant chatter gave him a headache, but the little girl listened to Ah Ning and obediently ate something. However, because of this, she has become particularly reliant on Ah Ning and clings to her sleeve without letting go."

When Ah Ning gets up, she gets up, and when Ah Ning goes out, she goes out. However, her body is too weak, and it would be best for her to lie in bed and rest. But Ah Ning can't stay with her all day long at the Meng family's house, so she brought her back.

Coincidentally, there were only two men in the Meng family, and Little Ya'er, being so young, probably didn't feel at ease in this unfamiliar place with two unfamiliar adults.

So Doctor Zhao sent her back, and Ah Ning was also tired from the day. The two little girls talked for a while on the bed, but of course, it was mostly Ah Ning doing the talking. Soon, they fell asleep.

Shu Yu nodded upon hearing this and Jiang Kuanyu was relieved to know that she was fine. Little Ya'er was still sleeping, and he had already seen her, so there was no need to stay longer. He quickly bid farewell and left.

When he saw her again the next day, Little Ya'er was awake.

However, as the old lady had described, she continued to cling to Ah Ning's clothes anxiously.

But she needed rest, and Ah Ning couldn't lie in bed with her the whole day. She had to get up, brush her teeth, wash her face, and have breakfast. At this moment, Little Ya'er watched her back yearningly and then curled up at the foot of the bed, hugging her legs.

Ah Ning felt distressed and went to find Shu Yu. "Second Sister, what should we do?"

Shu Yu told her to go and have her meal, then entered the room and sat on the edge of the bed, calling out, "Little Ya'er?"

The voice sounded somewhat familiar, and Little Ya'er felt like she had heard it before.

After hesitating for a while, she finally raised her head and saw Shu Yu. She remembered and said, "Grandfather..."

A surprised Ah Ning followed behind her. Did she just speak? Little Ya'er spoke?
