Chapter 721: Eating Fish

Shu Yu thought about Aunt Xue's unnaturally drooping hand. It seemed that although her hand had healed, her bones were completely misaligned.

And there was her emaciated and aged appearance, even more so than the rest of the Shu family. It seemed that without her and the mother-daughter duo of Hou family, she had become the new target of hatred for the Shu family. Even if the Shu family didn't lay a hand on her, her life was much worse off than others.

Shu Yu sneered.

The neighbor immediately spoke, "Master Lu is right. Aren't they just dogs biting each other? Master Lu, don't worry, I live next to the Shu family, and if they have any dirty thoughts, I promise to inform you."

Shu Yu looked up and glanced at the person,

The person quickly explained, "I'm just afraid that they will do something bad. Although they have been banished, they still don't seem honest. If they cause trouble for others and implicate the entire Zhengdao Village, it wouldn't be good. Since you are in charge, it's only right for me to come and talk to you."

Shu Yu thought that this person was also shrewd, so she smiled and did not refuse.

The person breathed a sigh of relief and happily left.

Shu Yu continued her work. Speaking of which, Hou Shi and the sixth miss had left for several days. She wondered how they were doing now.

The next time she went to the county town, she would bring them something.

After Shu Yu finished registering, she packed her things and went home.

Upon entering the courtyard, she discovered that the sunflowers she had previously planted had sprouted.

She squatted down to take a look, "Finally sprouted. I thought they wouldn't survive."

It wasn't the season to plant sunflowers now, but fortunately, they were easy to take care of, tolerating both warmth and cold. As long as the soil temperature was above two degrees, the seeds could survive.

In this southwestern area, apart from mornings and evenings, the temperature during the day wouldn't be particularly low.

She had planted the sunflowers in a pot earlier, taking them out to bask in the sun during the day and keeping them warm in the house at night.

They should have sprouted in about seven days, but after such a long time without any movement, Shu Yu thought that maybe the seeds weren't of good quality and couldn't grow in winter.

Well, although it took a bit longer, at least there was progress.

For now, she planned to plant this one seed. If everything went well, she would plant the other seeds next spring.

With one good thing happening after another recently, Shu Yu was in a good mood. After adjusting the direction of the potted plant, she stood up and said to the old lady, "Grandmother, my flowers have sprouted. I've been looking forward to it. Shouldn't we celebrate?"

The old lady was feeding the chickens and smiled when she heard that. She turned around and said, "How do you want to celebrate?"

"Last night, Fang Xiyue brought a fish over, right? We happen to have pickled vegetables, so let's make a pickled vegetable fish. I'll cook."

Fang Xiyue and the others had returned from hunting early yesterday, and she didn't know who suggested going fishing. The people from the third team all went to the river and worked hard for a long time, and they actually caught quite a few.

After distributing them, there happened to be one fish left, so Ma Lu asked Fang Xiyue to deliver it to the Lu family.

The fish was quite big, and Shu Yu couldn't help but feel a bit envious.

The old lady had no objections and said, "Alright, I'll go kill the fish." As she spoke, she scattered the chicken feed she had in her hand.

Shu Yu had already stood up ahead of her, "No need, I'll do it. I'll go to the river and kill it. It'll be easier to clean."

She went over and took out the fish that was kept in the pot, placing it in a bucket, and then fetched a knife and scissors before heading out directly.

After Shu Yu had left for a while, a person came walking from the corner.
