After drying the mushrooms and wood ear mushrooms, Fang Xiyue returned to her father and said, "Dad, I'm leaving now. I'll come back in the evening to stew chicken for you."

Her father smiled and replied, "Take care."

"Okay."

Fang Xiyue happily left the house and met up with Shu Yu. They returned to their original spot to continue picking mushrooms and wild vegetables.

When they had picked enough, they took a break. Shu Yu thought that if they came a few more times, they could sell the items and make some money.

As it was getting late, Shu Yu looked at the sky and said to Fang Xiyue, "Let's go back after we finish picking this area. It's getting dark, and the road will be difficult to walk."

"Okay." Fang Xiyue took a sip of water and bent down to continue working.

Just as they finished picking and were about to leave, they heard footsteps nearby.

Shu Yu instinctively looked up and recognized a few familiar faces approaching. Oh, weren't they the members of the Fifth Team who looked down on them earlier?

They appeared a bit disheveled, with scratches on their bodies, possibly from tree branches or thorns. Their hair was messy, and they were covered in dirt.

Looking at what they were carrying, it seemed they had raided a wild rabbit nest and had about four or five rabbits. They also had a small lynx.

The team consisted of four people in total, and their haul seemed decent.

However, compared to Shu Yu and Fang Xiyue, it was still not enough to be impressive.

Upon seeing Shu Yu and Fang Xiyue, the members of the Fifth Team paused and their eyes took on a subtle expression as they observed what the girls were doing.

"You couldn't catch any prey, so you decided to pick some wild vegetables and mushrooms instead to make up for it, right?"

"After all, women are not cut out for hunting. Picking vegetables and cooking is what you should be doing. But you're too naive if you think the boss will accept these things from you. You should think of another way. While it's not completely dark yet, look for some wild chickens or rabbits nearby."

The team members burst into laughter.

Shu Yu looked at them as if they were fools. "Who told you we couldn't catch any prey? We already delivered the game to the manor in the morning."

Fang Xiyue nodded in agreement. "That's right. We picked these vegetables for ourselves."

The members of the Fifth Team didn't believe them at all. "You're just making excuses."

Fang Xiyue wanted to explain further but was pulled back by Shu Yu.

"Forget it, arguing with them won't accomplish anything. Let's go."

Ignoring the four individuals, the two girls turned their backs and headed down the mountain with their baskets.

The members of the Fifth Team exchanged glances and laughed mockingly, thinking that the girls were just bluffing.

However, when they reached the foot of the mountain, they saw Shu Yu and Fang Xiyue walking in a different direction, which was not the path back to the manor.

The team members frowned slightly but didn't pay much attention. After all, if the girls didn't deliver their game, they would be the ones at a disadvantage.

The members of the Fifth Team hoped that the girls wouldn't interfere with their hunting group. Who knew if they would try to join their team again tomorrow, failing to meet the required quota?

With these thoughts in mind, the team members arrived at the entrance of the manor.

By now, there were already three or four teams gathered outside the manor. One of the teams had actually managed to catch two wild boars, causing a hint of envy to flash in their eyes.

An official came out, counted the game, and instructed them to bring the animals inside.
