Chapter 605: Fang Xiyue

After walking a few steps, Shu Yu suddenly realized that she didn't even know the name of the girl behind her.

She stopped and turned around.

Since they were going to cooperate for some time, it was important for them to understand each other's basic situation.

To her surprise, when she turned around, she found the girl walking behind her, occasionally glancing at the bow and arrows on her back. There was a complex expression in her eyes.

Shu Yu couldn't help but raise her arrow quiver, and the girl's eyes followed the movement.

However, it seemed that the girl hadn't noticed Shu Yu looking at her.

Shu Yu, "..."

She seemed a bit absent-minded, and that wouldn't do. If they encountered danger deep in the mountains and her reaction was this slow, it could lead to trouble.

Thinking this, Shu Yu cleared her throat twice.

The girl snapped out of her thoughts upon hearing the sound and looked up, meeting Shu Yu's gaze. She immediately felt embarrassed and said, "I, I got lost in thought just now."

Shu Yu replied, "I noticed."

She started walking again and said, "My name is Lu Shuyu. What's your name?"

The girl hurriedly walked a few steps to catch up with Shu Yu, now walking beside her, and quickly said, "My name is Fang Xiyue, and I'm fifteen years old."

She was a year older than Shu Yu.

Shu Yu nodded and glanced at the bow and arrows on her shoulder. She asked, "I saw you looking at the bow and arrows earlier. Do you know how to use them?"

"No, I don't." Fang Xiyue's expression visibly turned disappointed as she spoke, "I'm not good at archery. My father taught me for a long time, but I just can't seem to aim properly and hit the target."

Shu Yu was taken aback by her words. "Your father taught you for a long time?"

Afraid that Shu Yu might look down on her, Fang Xiyue quickly explained, "Yes, my father is a hunter. Although I'm not good at archery, you can rest assured that I've been hunting with my father since I was young. I know how to set traps, understand the behavior of prey, and how to avoid danger. Don't let my appearance fool you; I'm quite capable of climbing mountains and trees."

She spoke a lot, and Shu Yu looked at her in astonishment.

Damn, did she stumble upon a gem?

Shu Yu tentatively reached out and pinched Fang Xiyue's arm. The latter looked at her with a puzzled expression, not understanding why Shu Yu was pinching herself.

Shu Yu silently withdrew her hand. Well, she wasn't lying. Although Fang Xiyue appeared frail, her muscles were surprisingly strong and powerful to the touch.

Those fools from Team Five, pushing such a talented person aside, would regret it sooner or later.

Originally, Shu Yu thought she would just have to bring Fang Xiyue along as long as she could run fast without making a sound. But now it seemed that not only would it be much easier, but she could also benefit from Fang Xiyue's skills.

Shu Yu's mood improved even more, and she chatted with Fang Xiyue as they walked.

Fang Xiyue was a bit simple-minded, and with just a few words, Shu Yu managed to get her background story.

Although it wasn't a secret, Fang Xiyue's family had been exiled to Zhengdao Village. They arrived just three or four days before Shu Yu and the others, so she was relatively new.

The Fang family had been living a good life. With a skilled hunter as the father and a hardworking and capable mother, their family thrived.

However, they had some bad luck. While hunting, Fang Xiyue's father accidentally dug up a valuable ginseng root.

Being cautious, Fang Xiyue's father didn't dare to reveal the ginseng root easily. He planned to find a reliable medical clinic before selling it.
